This game is a "must be" for everbody who loves the games of the Civ series. I still have the original disks and a cd for 32-bit pcs of the Civ Chronicles compilation - but I cannot run them on my 64-bit pc. An electronical version at GOG that runs on 64-bit pcs is needed.

I was late to this game. I came from the Mega Drive (Genesis) and had no prior experience with PC games. I played it on my Dads old work Intel 386 Computer. It must be somewhen around 1996. The game was dirt cheap in the gamestore. One or two Deutsche Mark. I loved it. I had no idea what I was doing. But it was fun. At least until the oponents got Nuclear Bombs. Because then with every interactino they threaten me with their bombs and I always lost. Until today. I still like to play Civilization games. But I totally suck at it.

The first game I started playing in the evening and suddenly it was morning... Just a flashback to the first half of the '90s. Thanks to the emulation in Magic DosBox, I still run it on my android tablet. Simply brilliant. :)

I played thousands and thousands hours on this game, during a lot of years. I need more of this game because is a masterpiece and is replayable at 100% And now i need write this to put my comentary. See you in the store ;)
I honestly regard this game as the most influential computer game ever written and it baffles me why so many of the games it inspired are available, but this one isn't. I almost failed my last year at school because of it, and would love to be easily able to play it today without serious consequences.

One of the first games I ever played at PC. Since then, I have played all games of the series, even Beyond Earth and call to Power. The definition of a classic!

Educational game, and a pleasure to play. I spent too long thinking about the game mechanics when I wasn't playing it. This is where it all started. And hey, it sure broadens the perspective for a high schooler.

Fantastic game. Just a great game. How you adapt a boardgame and make it a fun computer game. This is the one to start with if you want to play Civ. It only makes sense to let people buy it!

Civilization 1 was the first game I played for hours with friends. We divided all the different units among ourselves. Even though we sometimes had to wait a long time for our turn, this new game system was so fascinating that we never got bored. When we didn't fully understand the game yet, we built a really small island completely full of cities. To this day, this remains a fond memory in our group of friends.

Ok, I had to look it up. Why in the world is a game inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame in the second year of its existence not for commercial sale?? That's just insane, especially on the eve of the full release of the 7th title. It created and defined the strategy genre and *then*--with Master of Orion I and II (which I notice are both on GoG)--defined the 4x genre. I mean, what?!?

Ascendancy
AscendancyAscendancy is similar to, but nevertheless very different from, Master of Orion. You play one of many races, each with a special ability and special character traits, who set off to explore space, erect colonies (which can each have individual purposes, depending on their raw materials) and engage in battles when you clash with others who have the same goals. Weapons on the ships use power, which has to be supplied somehow. This game introduces many original concepts, such as the Research Tree - a special scientific display in which discoveries are depicted as icons connected by lines to the "parent" technological breakthroughs and "child" ones, similar to the technology advances in Civilization, but presented in a much more visual way.

The Lost Vikings
The Lost VikingsThe Lost Vikings is a puzzle-platform video game developed by Silicon & Synapse (now Blizzard Entertainment) and published by Interplay. The game features infinite opportunities of retries in case the player loses one of the Vikings. In 2015, The Lost Vikings were added as a playable hero in Heroes of the Storm, allowing players to control the three Vikings as individual units, making a unique departure from the typical heroes available. Character abilities: All three Vikings (Erik, Baleog and Olaf) have three health points which they can lose by getting hurt by enemies or by falling from great heights, and the ability to carry and use items, mainly keys, bombs, and food (which restore health points). Each of the Vikings has a unique set of abilities: Erik can run faster than the other two, can jump, and can bash through some walls (and enemies) with his helmet. Baleog can kill enemies with his sword, or from a distance with his bow (and a "life-time supply of arrows"). The bow can also be used to hit switches from a distance. Olaf can block enemies and their projectiles with his shield, and use his shield as a hang glider. Olaf's shield can also be used as a stepping stone for Erik to enable him to reach higher ground, which would not be possible without the shield.
