Story:The Mummy is an action horror released as a tie-in for the 1999 Film of the same name.
It is a platform game for the PlayStation 1 game console and Microsoft Windows. The game is based mostly on the first film in the The Mummy series, taking place immediately after Evie resurrects Imhotep.

While the Mummy game may not be an all time classic like the Brendan Fraser film that inspired it, it's a pretty fun action game in it's own right. It's similar to Tomb Raider but with more shooting and fewer puzzles. Hitting mummies and tomb robbers with a machete feels really good here. Some iffy voice acting aside, the game's greatest strength is the sound design. In addition to using the fantastic score of the film, the sound effects are top notch. From the popping of Rick's revolvers, the groaning mummies, the squeaky scarabs, the thud of falling pillars, to the strikes of the machete, it all sounds fantastic. Very good atmosphere for a PS1 era game. This is definitely a title that could use preservation. One of the better movie tie ins.
I remember playing this way back in the day, it was very much a Tomb-Raider rip-off in terms of gameplay and is clearly a PC port of the PS/1 or PS/2 game but the story, music and design is exactly like the stunningly good film - The Mummy (1999). everything a fan of The Mummy or Ancient Egypt could have hoped for back in 1999 and beyond, you start in a tomb as Rick and you get to solve a mystery, and fight goons and mummies alike. A GOG release would offer a geniuine port and would deliver an easy setup without errors for players, this one deserves to be preserved
