Gersen: Do you know how long it takes to be able to notice the issue ? You just need to do a couple of fights or it requires a couple of hours of play time ?
It is something that is randomly dropped, so if you don't get it you cannot be sure if it's the bug or bad luck.

MarkoH01: Thank yopu for the detailed report. I forwarded your results and It should help GOG to finally fix this for good.
I tested today both Beat Hazard 2 & 3.

First 3 seems to be working fine offline, I only tried 20 something minutes, but I was able to reach the main menu, start arcade more while being fully offline and never started the game before.

For Beat Hazard 2... well... things have indeed change with the patch... for the worse...

The game still refuse to start if you are fully offline like before. However before you "only" needed to be online but it doesn't work anymore, now you need to be online and have Galaxy running if you want to reach the main menu otherwise it gets stick forever at the "Checking player 1 stats" stage.

Haven't had time to check Dungeon of the Endless yet.

On the other hand I did a little test run yesterday with the Steam version that I either got for free or from a bundle.

On the easiest difficulty (too easy or something like that) I got dust in almost every room.

Ok Thanks, I will try today after work with the Gog version.

That is indeed bad news. I had hoped they would remove the DRM, not worsen it.

They thought that they had done so but already realized that they made a mistake and at least rolled back the Beat Hazard 2 version (offline installer as well) to remove the need for Galaxy. Afaik it still needs online connection though but they are trying to fix this as well. Beat Hazard 3 according to Gersen has been fixed already with the latest build. At least that is my knowledge right now.

OK. Good to know that it was a mistake. Let's hope that they also fix the online dependency.

I didn't had time yet to retest (also didn't had time to test Dungeon of the Endless either) but they announced they apparently fixed both Beat Hazard 2 & 3, I will try to retest ASAP.
I just tested Beat Hazard 2 v 1.317 and I can confirm that it now works without an internet connection and without a Galaxy.

Confirmed. I was coming to post the same.
YAY! Great! I'll remove Beat Hazard 2 from the list!

Congrats Beat Hazard 2 on being removed from the list of shame. It's a great day when the list grows shorter.
Why is stuff like the optional Larian account that doesn't matter to gameplay at all in BG3 listed in this thread? Honest question, not trolling.

From the OP : "I will also include instances of 'soft' or 'only cosmetic' DRM, that don't really affect the gameplay. So everyone is free to decide for themselves whether the DRM (or not-really-DRM) reported is bad for them or not." Bottom line - people want DRM-Free games to get away from unnecessary accounts, launchers, online-gated content, etc, and still want to be aware of this stuff whether it affects gameplay or not.
