Can someone who is in the know please explain to me what caused Mr. M to start mocking CDPR/Cyberpunk? Really, how come he got even aware of it and why does he go out of his way to tell whole world how much he despises it in so many words? I must give it to him that at least his remark about how well it runs on his hardware was moderately funny.

A normal person doing what he does would end up being accused of trolling or gaslighting (and probably worse). As would some personalities on whatever asocial media channel, known to whoever plus their animals. So, what makes his Twitter burps so much more important, or so much more worth paying attention to? It is what it is: Some person shares a thought/opinion. This opinion must not mean anything to me and I certainly don't allow someone to dictate what I got to like and dislike nor what and how to think about it. No matter who it is and how famous. I am capable to form my own opinion and make more or less informed decisions. There is no need to follow someone either. This is just me. ;-) So, whatever Mr. M. likes or dislikes is nothing to me. ;-)

Abishia: exactly how do he helps "humanity"?
1. Tesla made electric cars sexy. Before Tesla all electric cars looked like small milk vans which could travel at 40 km/h tops.

2. Space exploration. I wouldn't be surprised Elon finds the first alien species. Heck even his kid has an extra-terrestrial name!

3. His wife (gf?) makes some good music, and maybe with Elon's money she can make even more.

Musk seems to be a pretty cool dude but he's not doing anything new.
He's taking dated military tech and disseminating it for public consumption. Nothing he's doing is new to companies like Lockheed or the RAND corporation. He's popular with hipsters, that's really about it. Defense contractors are making money, Musk is making money, the people think it's dazzling new tech.... everyone's happy.

I get what you're saying but let me add that Mr. Musk being a awsome maketeer, he have popularized the Electric car concept, nothing more. Before Tesla, those weird Toyotas being used by hollywood stars made much more to electric cars beind widely accepted.

Also, there are many, many fast electric cars:

If only....and eh, imo the benefits** outweigh the downsides**.
(benefits: internet to people in remote areas or poorer locales, possible increase to free speech online)
(downsides: low speeds/etc)

Abishia: also i think it's a really bad idea ever hear of Kessler syndrome? it means we could become forever trapped on earth like forever.
Kessler syndrome is a worry in general. Thankfully, though, these satellites are designed to de-orbit and burn up after a short time(several years) before being replaced.

SirHandsome: Your rep and rate of downvotes is impressive Gamerzrank. Youve gotten in some ones head lol.
And someone(s) who maybe spends too much time on social media, if they think forum score points actually matter. :)

the Kessler syndrome does not trap us on earth because med-high ships can past through it

what it could easy do is make low orbit satellites unviable and that would mean communications cost skyrocket... pun intended

GamezRanker: I wonder...why would someone want to play an involved game like that in their vehicle?

tomimt: They are basically boasting how good CPU's Teslas have.
Unless the CPU has integrated graphics above anything ever seen before, it's not just CPU, it should have GPU as well? And then we are talking about a RTX3080ti or RTX3090. And even those won't help to play CP on decent framerate (60fps+) if you have all the Raytracing turned on...
I'd say to do that, you'd be using two of either of those put together. And then the power consumption becomes very, very high, and then you are really consuming electricity at a rate that kind of makes quite a bit less nature-friendly, if that's what the whole Musk thing is about...?

Maybe the next RTX4000-gen will change the power consumption problem, but those don't exist yet.
Personally I have no experience of the game nor this person one way or the other, just commenting on the tech side.

Which Toyotas? If you are referring to Prius hybrid cars, they are not electric cars.

I recall reading some time ago that Toyota isn't producing electric cars (and I mean cars with no combustion engine at all, so no I am not talking about hybrids) because they didn't foresee there would be such a high demand for them, and they were planning to introduce them later, much later.

But now with the success of Tesla etc., they've changed their plans and are trying to rush in to introduce all-electric cars too to the international mass consumer market. And I mean cars that normal households can still buy, not some 1 million dollar special cars, of which they make only 10 pieces worldwide.

I ended up learning about that as I was wondering at some point, why Toyota, the biggest car manufacturer in the world, hasn't already introduced all-electric consumer-level cars to e.g. EU market, when smaller companies like Seat, Kia, Nissan etc. already have. Turns out the reason was because they underestimated the need for electric cars, apparently they thought they'd be just selling Prius and Auris hybrids for the next decade, and maybe after that introduce electric cars.

Nowadays, yes. (VW ID.3 is just about to appear to Finnish car market too, but they haven't started delivering them yet here. I've seen a couple of them on the roads, not sure if they are being tested by some car dealer workers, or someone has bought and brought some from abroad.)

Before Tesla, a consumer-level "electric car" meant some small car looking like a milk van, that could go up to 75 km/h in speed and travel max 30 km before needing recharging. I recall some guy at my workplace having such a toy as a car.

Tesla is what popularized the idea that an all-electric car can be fast and sexy, even the models that normal households could possibly afford (even though Teslas, and all electric cars for that matter, tend to still be quite expensive).

Yes it is quite much about marketing too, but it does seem Tesla has been very actively also researching new battery technologies, charging etc. So it isn't like Nike of the electric cars, just rebranding someone else's products.

So noted.

Can you link to some music you consider good, so I can evaluate whether I consider it good?

ussnorway: the Kessler syndrome does not trap us on earth because med-high ships can past through it
It's more about the speeds at which the pieces of junk are travelling.....even small pieces at those speeds can punch holes in a number of materials...especially thinner ones(and in the vacuum of space that isn't such a good idea, for obvious reasons).

low orbit is a small area where the earth doesn't pull things down into it but also not really the point of things spinning off into space... its a thin line and easy to punch past but having junk in that area is a bitch because it stays there and doesn't move down or up

the speed thing is correct
Of all asinine posts to necro, why this one?

And a big problem: like when (iirc) the ISS had a minor impact which caused a leak not too long ago.
