Mr.Mumbles: Cool. I'm very likely to pick this one up, especially as this will be a well-regarded brand new old game for me. I've read about the game quite a few times over the years, and I've even played through its (pseudo?-)sequel Fade to Black, but I've never had the opportunity to play Flashback before.
Considering the discount goes on for an entire month, I have a strong feeling that GOG's winter sale is just around the corner. ;)
winter sale ? within 2 or 3 weeks?
i think 22 purchases since april till now
roughly 2-3 game a month ( including sales with cheap DLC)
Sounds a lot but it isn't, its nothing compared to the 2014 and 2015 ( joined 2014 and had zero games :D)
Anyway unless dozens of real Good old games ( 2d games , and no flashy fighting games/ paralax scrolling platforms and more like this ( hundreds of games were made in the past i seen 1,000 ;s of games in the last 40 years :D) arrive my wallet will stay closed, unles a few new good HOG arrive , which would be near impossible cause i own every artifex game , and many other casualgames)

MarkoH01: You've seen the videos and screenshots of this release with some enabled features you can turn off. So no, that's NOT enough to make an *cough* experienced judgement. You simply have not seen the game when features are turned off.
Serren: Wouldn't that look like the original Amiga or DOS version? Isn't that one of the bullet points?
Considering that in the meantime, between the original game release and this one, someone has already done better with remaking the engine, this release seems very sloppy. Slapping a smudgy filter on top of the low resolution version of the game is not remastering it.
To me, Castle of Illusion, Day of the Tentacle, DuckTales, Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2 are examples of remastering old games. This version of Flashback is on the same level as Simon the Sorcerer "remastering".
screenshot PC DOS BOX version
withing DOSBOX you can set things like fullscreen windowed
, and make the graphics looks less blurry by making them 'smaller' , normally you can do that using DXwnd , run old game set it to windowmoede and all pixelsoup look a lot better, it's smaller but it looks better.
Anyway i turned all new settings off cause my eyes hurt looking at the game with all the filters on, so i tried the 'original' and wow, thats like ministeck , so that was a no go aswell, so i have the old dosbox version , works a charm.
