If I have ever heard anything intelligent from your writing, I'd be surprised. All you can do is whining non stop. Unbelievable.

Johnathanamz: I hope somehow gog.com convinces Flying WildHog to release the original version of Hard Reset with Hard Reset Redux.

I hope Flying WildHog sees this topic.
The developer doesn't need to see this topic, because it's broken topic to begin with.

Marioface5: Honestly, I'm not sure where to draw the line. With Baldur's Gate I would say that the Enhanced Edition is different from a patch, yes. But with something like Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition? I don't know. You can do so much with patches these days that I can't tell what warrants a re-release and what doesn't.

This is all getting away from my original point though. Regardless of the difference between patches and new editions of games, in both cases it can result in the original version being unavailable for download. I can't get the original Hard Reset on GOG, but I also can't get the launch version of Terraria. There's nothing new, unusual, or surprising about it.

Breja: 1. There is a list of games that have the "old" version available jsut two posts above yours.
2. Just because somethin is not "unusual" does not mean it's the way things should be. I'm not really sure what stating that fact was supposed to prove. It's not like someone here was vocally opposing giving people the option to get unpatched versions of games, is it? It would be best if we had the option to get the launch version of Terraria or any other game. It's always preferable to have choices.
1. I know. I never said that there were no games that had the non-enhanced version available, though it may not be as common as I thought.

2. I agree! We are on the same side here. I think it would be best if all enhanced editions did come with the original version as an extra. My original post here was in response to someone saying that they didn't understand why a new version meant the old version was no longer sold. I was just trying to demonstrate that older versions of a game becoming unavailable is common with patches, so it happening with enhanced editions could be seen as an extension of that. I feel like I must have done something horrible with my wording, because I wasn't trying to say anything argumentative or controversial. Just kind of like "well developers are used to making old versions of games unavailable through patches, so they probably don't think anything of it when they remove a non-enhanced version from sale".

As usual you continue to be negative and attitude like this from gamers is why we lose classics or the "Original" versions of video games.

It's very sad to be losing them.

Classics? lol. The original was bad version of current Redux. Did you even play? No.

I own both on Steam. I can form my own opinion, you can't.

Negativity my ass.

Even though the original version of Hard Reset has bugs.

It was ok to still play.

It is still very important to preserve the original versions of video games.

Whenever Deus Ex: Human Revolution gets released for sale on gog.com I hope SQUARE-ENIX includes the original version with the Director's Cut.

Whenever Sleeping Dogs gets released for sale on gog.com I hope SQUARE-ENIX includes the original version with the Definitive Edition.

So many originals of video games being delisted and not sold with the new versions of video games or at least still offered as a separate sale.

Activision is probably going to also delist the original version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare with the remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

PaterAlf: There are several cases where the old version is still available as a bonus.

Just out of my mind: Broken Sword, Broken Sword 2, Crimsonland, Divinity: Original Sin, Ether One, Mind: Path to Thalamus, Octodad, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, Outcast, Seven Kingdoms 2, Stronghold, Stronghold Crusader, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Trine, Wasteland 2.

I'm sure there are many more.
Divinity: Original sin does not include the original. If you didn't buy it before the Enhanced edition was released, you don't get it. Same story with Darksiders 2.

Divinity: Original Sin doesn't come with the original version automatically. But there's a link on the game card to tell support that you want it. I did so and had it in my library about an hour later. So it isn't a problem to get the original version.
