octalot: No-one's likely to risk selling an outright clone, but it seems the sort of game that would be very easy to write in a modern game engine. If there's a niche that isn't being filled by an available game, why not create a new one in the same niche instead of chasing the IP rights of an old one?
Unsurprisingly, you are not the only person who thought of that.

Zombie Night Terror fits the bill and it's often discounted to just around a buck. Just wait for the next big sale (most likely starting next week) to pick it up if you haven't already.
They walk a hundred miles...aaand another hundred miles... unless you do something about it.

neumi5694: The original Lemmings might be a bit of a problem. Let alone the fact that they were Amiga games, they were also released by Psygnosis and god knows who owns the rights to these games now.
[...]
Sony has them. Psygnosis still exists as a legal entity under the name SCE Studio Liverpool. They have not made any gams since 2012, but Sony has all the rights and continue to renew both the brand and all the trademarks.

AB2012: In the mean-time, Neolemmix is an open-source clone with an absolute ton of levels (inc the original ones that are 'accurate').
Nice. Will have to give that one a try.

Then I request Drakan, Leander and Discworld 1+2!

And Discworld Noir - not quite as good as the first two games but it was an original Discworld story!

Of course, but it was published by GT interactive and not Psygnosis.

Aah - good point. I was forgetting that, even though I've got the big boxes of all three on a shelf behind my desk!

Eh. ;) https://www.mobygames.com/game/39255/lemure/ I played it many years ago; it was OK but the level design was pretty mundane.
The longer the Lemmings remain in Limbo... with no-one to save them... the longer they'll die. Horrifically and painfully.

Poor little Lemmings *sniff*
Can't be too hard, if they can be herded off a cliff by a Disney director.
Don't know, I feel like while Sony owns all the IP right and can make NEW Lemmings games at will, there still might be some kind of technology in the old games that RockStar / Take2 could raise legal issues with if Sony tried to make any money off selling them again

I mean wasn't that one of the issues with the No One Lives Forever rights? Whoever picked up the IP rights to the series when Fox Interactive closed its doors it wasn't Warner who owns Monolith these days who made the things using their Lithtech engine..;
Voted but IIRC Sony owns the Lemmings rights and they have done everything they can to ignore it exists.
So Sony are the ones I need to bribe \ plead with?

I think so at least according to wikipedia I was wrong though they have released some remakes but the last one was in 2012 at according to wikipedia. so take that as you will.
