Sat42: Lemmings Revolution[/i] might be to your taste though, that's the one I'm most excited to play as an evolution of the original.

idbeholdME: It's a good game, but hard as hell. I actually never managed to beat it. There were a lot of levels where I just couldn't figure out a way to beat them. Eventually reached a stage that I got all the levels I could done and couldn't advance further on the level map. Was really funny. In some branches, I've reached the end stages and in other level branches I got stuck much earlier. There was one level in the 6th or 7th column, which I just simply couldn't get past, no matter what.

Got the top half mostly finished, besides a couple exceptions, but the lower half was extremely problematic for me to beat past the 7th or so column. Beat some of them, but it was more a rarity than the norm. Never looked at any guides or methods to beat the levels, but I am basically convinced some of them are impossible :P. I spent hours on some of the levels and still no dice.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Sounds like a typical Lemmings game alright :P with the original game, I beat the entirety of "Fun" and "Tricky" but only a few levels of "Taxing" and "Mayhem" just to prove to myself that I could do some of those! I think past a certain point it ceases to be fun (and in the case of the original Lemmings a lot of the challenge comes from the implementation side of things, with not just hectic real-time gameplay but also the necessity to learn the quirks of the engine due to technical limitations at the time)

Oh yes, Revolution is hard as nails. I mentioned getting bored of it last year but I played most levels as a teenager. Actually finished some levels in the last column, but never got close of beating them all.

IIRC one of the levels was unsolvable and required a patch to fix it. I don't recall the level name but lemmings fell down to their deaths right away. They were supposed to survive the initial drop but in the 1.00 version they didn't.

I did also beat a couple of the last ones but some others, waaay earlier, wouldn't budge. The difficulty really was all over the place.

And regarding bugged levels, there was one which also contained a borderline fall, the maximum height the lemmings could survive. The problem was that it was pretty much random. Sometimes they lived, sometimes they died. Changing the game speed/framerate affected the results. Was playing on Win XP, can't remember if I made it past. IIRC, it was a level where lemmings dropped from the box, walked for a second or two and then fell into an empy water tank. Some attempts, they went splat, some attempts, the landed without issues.

Lemmings Revolution is extremely hard. But there was something addictive about working working around the central cylinder.

"Let's Go!"
Lemmings games are a culture classic in PC gaming. They should be here.
Voted for all of them already. :)
+1 for having Lemmings games here, they are classics.
Voted! I realy wish some of the Lemmings games were here. I had a great time playing them (especially the first 2 games).
I think it's safe to state that there is ko lack of willingness on GOG's psrt to have Lemmings on the store. Nevertheless, whatever the legal situation is, they would be a gem to add to the collection.

Darvond: Good luck with that. They're a bit of a slight rights issue, given the series was mostly sold to Sony for a bit, then sold to who knows, finally ending up in the hands of Sad Puppy Games, whose website is (shocker) missing in action.

Last the little blighters were seen was on a postage stamp series in 2020.
As for that Sad Puppy company, I see they also released a mobile game using the Sackboy IP. They have Sackboy, Lemmings... and I can't find anything else about them.

Who are they, is Sad Puppy a subsidiary of Sony itself? It's like they're nobody, but they've been working with intellectual properties that seem too interesting for a team of unknown small developers to get their hands on.
Never played a lemmings game before, but I'm loving the concept, I may try the open source clone mentioned above

I recommend you give Pingus a try. It's a free open-source Lemmings clone. And it's brilliant!

I'm surprised to hear that they aren't already on GOG.
I remember playing that years ago.
If they aren't on GOG they should be.

I definitely will!
For those who don't already have it, the already-mentipned-upthread Zombie Night Terrror is (along with its Special Edition Upgrade DLC) currently on sale for its customary 90% off ($1.29 U.S.) for the duration of the sale.
