Ragnarblackmane: Thanks to GoG I now have enough new games to avoid being outside!
Outside? Please, do tell me what that is.
Awesome sale GOG. It WAS a lot of fun. I'm sad that it's over.

Galaxy can't come soon enough.
Well. I have been a GOG user for over a year now and I appreciate and understand everything you guys are doing. It's always hard standing against the tide. I know that what you are doing isn't easy, but despite what some might say, you are still doing a great job. If I may wax lyrical, you are 'Carrying the torch' in this dark hour of Rights Management, Pay-To-Lease gaming and Micro-Transactions.
I know that a lot of things are still out of your hands, but I will never complain about things like 'Regional Pricing', or any of the other things that cause a forum flame-war. That's because I know you are doing your best, and your best is a damned sight better than anyone else can do. And you do better than the rest because you care about your customers, and I defy anyone here to say that you don't.

micktiegs_8: Yes, the 'give it to everyone now and patch in galaxy support later on' would have been the most sensible option. Galaxy does not apply to me at all as I like to LAN with a second person in my house. I could have been doing that for two months by the time the game 'releases'

skeletonbow: Yes, it does seem a bit odd to make it available to some, knowing that everyone will know this. :) It's possible too that there is still just some mis-communication happening. I'm sure that within a few days based on community feedback both here and on their own forums that any misunderstandings and mis-communications will likely be sorted out though. Hopefully part of that involves seeing the game made available for anyone and everyone to purchase here now, with Galaxy support coming as an update at a later date.

It's hard to understand why they would release it the way it appears they are. I'm wondering if people who bought Dragon Commander here on GOG were upset because they couldn't play with people on Steam without using LAN or Direct-IP mode perhaps, and they wanted to ensure that customers who do plan on playing online multiplayer with expectations to play against people on Steam can do so soon as they buy it, so they decided to hold off on the full blown release, but wanted to honour their Kickstarter promise for the game to be available on GOG right away. Just pure speculation on my part.

It would seem that either way, whatever they would have decided to do would ultimately result in some number of customers being upset. Either people upset they could get the game here right away but not be able to play against friends who have it on Steam except for Direct-IP/LAN mode, or people upset to have to wait to get the game until the end of August.

I'll predict one more thing though... lets say the next game in the series after Original Sin is released on both Steam and GOG at the exact same milliesecond with the exact same features present on both, made available for pre-release order on both at the same time and the same in every other imaginable aspect, that the game is completely bug free and every feature they promise is delivered perfectly. There will be people who find a reason (or make one up) to complain about it anyway, so long as there are human beings that desire video games alive on Earth. ;)
Well as much as I hate Steam, I'll be buying it from there in 24 hours and simply not having Steam open while I play. I don't feel I'm fishing for a reason to complain... The complete misinformation on gog and Larian's part is what I boil it down to and it's a legitimate excuse. 'Hey the game's released today! But oh shit hang on, did you kickstart it way back when? No? Well I forgot to clarify that you have to wait a considerable period of time until you and the rest of the second class receive it.' LOL a little dramatic but hey that's the way it seems.
Thanks for the sale! You guys blew Steam out of the water this last week! I was expecting to drop a ton of money on both, but instead... just on gog!
Folks at GOG, you have outdone yourselves once again. It was very pleasing to see many great classics at such affordable prices. Lets just say I'm permanently staying.

Thank you once again for the sale!
