If anyone likes random, absurd humour, you definitely must watch ¨Sukūru Ranburu¨ (¨School Rumble¨). At least for me it was a laugh one after another.

And I see a lot of people liked ¨Ghost in the Shell¨, definitely, that movie was a before and an after.

All in all, I love animation. It doesn´t matter to me where it´s made, I´ll keep watching them. From ¨Gummy bears¨, to ¨Rouroni Kenshin¨, going through ¨Tin Tin¨, Ghibli movies, Disney movies, Bugs Bunny, Pinky and the Brain, Alley Cat, Barbapapa, etc.
If it exists I have probably seen it :P

..
is it even more random and absurd than Excel Saga?

ShaolinsKunk: Never did get into DBZ. The fights were awesome, sure, but they spend four episodes boasting at each other before they finally start to throw punches. Far too impatient for that noise.
Old joke: How many saiyans are needed to change a light bulb? Just one. But they need 3 episodes.

No, School rumble is just a romantic comedy with tons of misunderstandings, while Excel saga is completely absurd.

My favorite random, absurd humor anime is Nichijou (<-legit streaming site).
Opening by Hyadain is a bonus.

More random and absurd than Excel Saga? It does not exist.
Animes to laugh, I liked: Nichijou, Lucky Star and some episodes of Gintama.
Gintama makes some good references and parodies.

retsuseiba: This is the best animu.
Everyone and their sister and their childhood best friend should watch it.
Yes, it's one of my favorites.
Definitely everyone should watch. Still trying convince some friends.
I recently finished, I need to watch the movies and the two OVAs.

Has anyone seen this? If so, how good is it? It looks quite good and something I may like.

Solei: I have seen 4 episodes so far, and it rocks imho, - this anime is well worth watching.
Thanks for the input. I'll start watching it tomorrow as a lot of people have told me great things about it. Can't wait :]

Fist of the North Star - I cried so many times.

The most recent one was Katanagatari. That one was really great and satisfying. Not one moment where I thought "wtf, why is the author doing this."
Especially those new never ending ones are annoying with their copy and paste characters and artificial drama. Everyone has some kind of sad background and some quirks that make them completely unlikeable. It's unfortunate, because there is so much potential just wasted.

Thanks for any input in advance.
I've been reading the manga it's based on and I'd consider it quite good. Something to keep in mind, though, is that the manga is still in progress, which means there's a good chance that as the anime gets towards the end of the season it will completely diverge from the manga in order to try to wrap things up (while the manga continues with the story the author intended to tell). Unfortunately a story that happens with far too many manga to anime adaptations.
Just finished watching the third (new) Rebuild of Evangelion movie tonight, "3.33 You Can (Not) Redo". I have to say compared to the original series I'm not liking these "remake" movies much, so much seems rushed or removed from the original series, especially the psychological states and character stuff of the three main "children". Way too much huge budget battle scenes, it's amazing what the original series accomplished in the Eva/Angel battles with a limited budget, but the movies seem to have the budget of half the GDP of Japan and still manage to not add much.

New characters are mostly good. All the pseudo-philosophical/religious babble lore still annoys me. The best scenes in the movie were the ones with just character interaction, the action scenes were exciting though.

8/10
It's ok. There are some I like, others not so much.

What I do like:

Trigun

Gungrave,

NGE

Hellsing Ultimate (not the other series. Which was crap)

Black Butler (the first season. The second season was crap)

Cowboy Bebop

Currently watching the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumuyi. It's pretty fun.

I´ll check that one out ;P.

By the way, this one is not an anime, though, it´s like a parody of many things of Japan´s culture, one of them, and the one that´s evident from the get go is a famous RPG game and since this is a gaming community, it´s just fitting mentioning it here................don´t eat while watching it or you´ll end up with a spit on your monitor :P
With you, ¨Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro¨ (Yoshihiko Yuusha and Maou´s castle).
I´ll leave some clips so you can see what it is about :P
Arrival to a deserted village? or how to make someone make silence from afar.

Remember the rebuild films are made to be the more "accessible and understandable" alternative to the series and end of evangelion.

Who knows if these films will have a "Happy" ending instead of an eerily vague ending such as the kind in End of Evangelion.

I watch a TON of anime. Like around 300 overall. I'm slowing down though, as it's becoming harder to find good ones.

1) Neon Genesis Evangelion. More and more mindfuck as the series progresses till you don't even understand what's going on anymore.

2) Seitokai Yakuindomo. A comedy anime that's as random as you can get. Plenty of dirty humor and 4th wall breaking.
