Sorry if I misunderstood you, but I thought that by "such a low investment number" you are refferring to their goal and the amount of pledges.

Also, they sure have smalle pot to lose, but they have 12.800 backers and had 87,142 backers. Also, they will have to make items for people who pledged 100$ or more, so that's 2.500 backers, while Double Fine had arounf 13000 backers above $100 tier (which also was a start for physical goodies).

It bothers me a little that 2 of the most expensive stretch goals involve putting backers into the game. How is that expensive or difficult to do? Stretch goals should be things that improve the game, not cosmetic stuff.

I am sure this is meant to limit the number of people they have to add to the game.

well it isnt realy, when they first announced the stretch goals, the backers being in the game wrent there, they were added later as a bonus as it were

That's one aspect of kickstarter I hate, lately it feels like I'm actually helping finance the production of knick-knacks instead of games.

Yeah and there are a lot of people that would not pledge if they did not get a Steam code, and there are a lot of people that would not pledge if they did not get a DRM-free version, and there are a lot of people that would not pledge if they did not get a localization in their language, and there are a lot of people that would not pledge if they did not get a port to their platform, et cetera ad nauseam.

Some physical swag is fine, but I'd cancel my pledge if I felt a kickstarter were overdoing it.

It´s a pity that GOG didn´t give them some publicity. Of course GOG is a private company, not a charity foundation, but we shouldn´t forget that the only free AAA title we have here is from Revolution, and they also gave us the original Broken Sword after some users (I was one of them) demanded it. So it is really a "GOG friendly" studio.

Yep. Me, I kinda doubt that 400 K alone could be enough for this kind of game. The voice-acting budget alone must be substantial, if the game is to be fully voice-acted.

I agree. GOG should make official announcements about that kind of stuff, even if they can't post the gamecard nor take preorders yet.

Just made a pledge hope they get to $800,000.

I agree, they could make an announcement today, that could help to boost pledges to reach 800k goal.

I'm unhappy it won't reach 1mln though :(
