babark: I've pretty much gotten all my desired RPGs from gog, I guess what would be left is:

Anachronox
Jade Empire
Shadowrun Returns
Gothic 2

A bit of a side-question if nobody minds (I can start a new thread if necessary), but I was wondering about the RPGs on gog.
You might say the "Big Three" would be Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale 2? Or is it Fallout 2?
What would be the main points of each?
From my understanding, it is PT for the story, BG2 for the "RPGness" and ID2 for the mechanics?
Is that true?

Also, gog often has the "D&D collection" as a bundle in sales, but my problem with that is always the not bad, but less good games coupled with the great ones. I might be somewhat interested in Icewind Dale 2, but am not so sure about Temple of Elemental Evil or Dragonshard, for example.
What would you label as the necessary D&D games, excluding the ones that are less good, or overlapping?
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on Temple of Elemental Evil. I've never played it even though I'm a pretty big AD&D fan. I did pick it up over the summer sale and will have to see for myself if it's any good. I have played tons of games where people have tried to say it was terrible. One that comes to mind right off the top of my head is Soulbringer I don't know a single one of my friends that liked that game, but for some reason I really got into a few years back.

Yes. Soulbringer wasn't half bad.

I'm pretty sure every game in that D&D pack is a must-play, IMHO. I haven't played them all myself, but I'm working on it now. Baldur's Gate 1 is exceptional and that's the one I'm currently on, but I imagine all those games in that pack are top tier games. Play them all!
I want to play.
1. Eschalon Book III
2. Neverwinter Nights 2
3. Blackguards
4. The Banner Saga
5. Jade Empire
6. Aarklash Legacy
Great idea for a giveaway +1

Anachronox

Ultima™ 4+5+6

Anvil of Dawn

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

I mostly go for RPG games and the above are ones I have my eye on at present

Thanks for the giveaway

OneFiercePuppy: Temple of Elemental Evil isn't really one of the bad ones. The remake of Pool of Radiance certainly is, though. ToEE is, in fact, the only good game of the "modern" D&D RPGs to truly use fully turn-based combat. The radial menu is pretty nice, too. So I'd say ToEE is worth picking up, especially if you'd like to see a fresh take on the UI.
I second this. ToEE is an almost word-by-word adaptation of the original module. This game is 100% about combat, though; the towns are very boring.
I always wanted to try:

Silver
Septerra Core
Omikron
Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption
Ultima 7

Yeah, there are some things not to like about Soulbringer, but I too enjoyed it, very very much. The immersion factor was done well. I liked the way we could set up combos. I liked the story, the graphics were great for the time (and still play well), and the combat was very fun. I really enjoyed it a lot, finished it many years ago and plan to play through again some time.

As for this contest, there are only two RPG's on GOG that I'm interested in and haven't played/don't own already. Blackguards (which I'm sure that's not the giveaway) and Heretic Kingdoms: The Inquisition.

EDIT: Oh, and THANKS FOR THE GIVEAWAY.

I remember dieing so many times on my play through of soulbring every time saying "okay this is the last damn time then I quit if I die again". lol The thing was I got it as a double pack with planescape torment. I had no expectations of it yet I played it for a few months straight.
The RPG's left on my wishlist are:
Arx Fatalis
Jade Empire
Anvil of Dawn
The Banner Saga
Blackguards

Thanks for the giveaway +1.
Little confused by the rules but thanks for the giveaway.

On my list are:

Costume Quest

Exact same thing here. It was in one of those two-fer deals in a single CD case. Bought it for Planescape: Torment and had never heard of Soulbringer. As it turned out, I enjoyed Soulbringer as much as I did Planescape: Torment. I enjoyed them both immensely.

In fact, Souldbringer will forever have a special place in my heart because during that whole month or two period that I played it, it was not long after becoming disabled and my sister's kids stayed with me and my family, and Steven, about 3 or 4 at the time, sat on my lap for hours and hours and hours and watched me play that game. Laughing, getting excited when combat would come up, in awe of the graphics, I just can't put into words how special that time was for me, especially at that time in my life. I'll never forget it.
