Damnation: As much as GameRager might seem to overprotect himself, it could be that he is telling the truth and the mafia are now jumping onto him in hope of him being an easy kill in this stalemate?
avatar
nmillar: Yeah, that's what I thought too. The mafia (Titanium / Nazarush) could have jumped on the votes for me and virtually eliminated me, but when it's been revealed that I'm an innocent victim then it would prove my accusations are correct and spell game over for them. Jumping on GameRager is the "safe" option for them. If he's innocent, then I (and Damnation to some extend) would still be suspects.

I think eyeball226 is attempting to throw people off the scent with his latest statement (yet encouraging others to vote for GameRager) and he is my most likely candidate to be the third mafia member.
Oh FFS... I'm just trying to avoid a repeat of Robbeasy's fate. Fine, vote Nazarush.
*sips coffee, reads paper*
unvote Nazarush, vote GameRager
I hope this double posts instead of editing. *crosses fingers*

@nmillar: What would I get out of convincing others to vote for GameRager but not voting for him myself? I don't understand your logic.

Don't forget, your accusations up to this point have been more of a sporadic misfire and lynch (Robbeasy), and after the fact there are mafia everywhere with little hard fact in the way. This is either a clever tactic or just guesswork. I'm thinking the former, or a ballsy mafia for the latter. This isn't based on your accusations of me, since that would be immature (trust no one and all that), but on me revisiting the whole topic and finding a lot of shifts and turns within your posts. Or is that perhaps your way of eliminating doubt by being the most vocal and sure of your decisions? Or perhaps a way to reinforce debate and find inconsistencies within others? Don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud, as that is the best way to produce some manageable discussion without going for the easy lynch.

One more thing to note: two of us have the same vote count - nmillar, Titanium; while GameRager has three, with all but two people voted, and the missing are Dominic998 and GoJays2025. These two could now easily go for GameRager, but only for him. Otherwise someone would have to rearrange his vote. Now, if GameRager would get lynched, and proved innocent, I would easily suspect eyeball226 and the remaining two. That in itself can be a risk and a deterrent for the others, since an innocent lynched at this stage is almost a mafia victory. Also, for someone to climb closer to a lynch can mean a dangerous state of affairs, and I just hope none of the remaining two are mafia members, and I'm fairly relieved this topic isn't carefully monitored. Or is it? Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, we are in a sudden death round, or close to one. And without a strong suspect, we'll just have to get lucky. I've made my peace with God, have you? <thunde in the distance>

Okay, fast forward two votes...

With Titanium the only survivor of this nights poisoned apples and falling pianos, the three remaining town members (read: mafia) members greet him at the town square. They face each other, three against one. The first masked man steps out of the row and begins to greet me: "What's this? One of you is still left, is there? I thought our shish-kabob-o-matic took care of you?" I replied: "I guess I didn't..." I put on some cheap sun glasses "get the point..." at this instant, I hear a "YYYEEEAAAHHHH" in the distance, and "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who started playing, but I'm sure that was just the last remaining injured townie getting coup de grace'd by a heavy stereo system. My corny antics, unfortunately, didn't buy me a get out of town not dead free card. On the contrary, mafia started packing heat. In literal sense, with flame throwers. The one on the right of the front man said: "any last words?" A small grin developed on my face. "Yeah, just this...ooohh Freak out!!"

1. "That's your tagline? Freak out? From Freakazoid? That's so very very sad."
2. "Yeah? Well, at least I'm not tied to a rocket with the remaining two gangsters on a one way trip to Ur.anus."
1. "Huh. Good point."
2. "Here, don't forget your towel. Never leave home without one. Now fly away, I need to figure out what I wanted to accomplish with this documentary part of my exploits anyway. Oh well, insert cliffhanger here"
The end

eyeball226: I hope this double posts instead of editing. *crosses fingers*

@nmillar: What would I get out of convincing others to vote for GameRager but not voting for him myself? I don't understand your logic.
You agreed with Nazarush's vote for GameRager earlier on, which might encourage other townies to place their votes for GameRager (as that's where the majority of votes now seem to be going).

However, you did not vote for him. I believe this is because I have suggested you are the third member of the mafia (along with Titanium and Nazarush). The other two have already voted for GameRager, so I think you are now trying to distance yourself from them (plus vote for one of my suspected mafia members) to "prove" you are not mafia.

You have hastily (within 24 hours) retracted your vote for Nazarush and followed the other two mafia members' votes for GameRager. This again suggest that the three people who have voted for GameRager are mafia (though this would be a very silly tactic if true).

Nothing personal - it's just a game!

No offence was taken, I honestly didn't follow your logic. Thanks for the explanation!

I'm now extremely sure that GameRager is mafia (suspicious of Dominic998 too... too quiet). Of course... perhaps you are mafia (and therefore know GR isn't) and are attempting to set up an "I told you so" situation so that when he is lynched I'll look suspicious. Argh, complicated game is complicated. I'm enjoying it now though even if I feel like everyone else has a better idea of what's going on (I get that feeling when I play Cluedo too...).

I admit my vote early on for Robbeasy was a mistake, but at that stage it really was a matter of picking somebody at random and hoping they were mafia - unfortunately that turned out not to be the case.

Looking back, I think the "no lynch" decision on Day 1 was also a mistake. That handed an advantage to the mafia immediately (one townie was guaranteed to be killed overnight, but there was a chance we could have struck lucky by lynching someone during the day).

My current suspicions are based entirely on voting patterns - from this, I identified several people who had not cast a vote for certain other people, referenced and cross-reference until I found a group of three that had never voted for each other. This seems to logically point at these three people being mafia (i.e. Titanium, Nazarush, eyeball226).

Obviously I've had to disregard any voting after I stated this was what I was looking at as mafia members will now deliberately try to mis-lead through their voting.

I think GameRager is just an extrovert and likes to make his voice heard.
Hoping this shows up as a new post!

There is a chance that GameRager could be mafia, rather than eyeball226, but I'm sure Titanium and Nazarush are mafia.

Hmm, voting for me enthusiastically and also double posting without even a hint of warning from the OP/GM.......could this be for a reason? I still dunno if you're mafia or not, but this is making me plenty suspiscious.......:\

5. Don't edit your posts! This is very important! Editing a post is grounds for being modkilled. Due to the forum software I must also ask you not to double post.

GameRager:
GameRager, if you'd read the whole thread you know the reason double posting wasn't allowed was because the forum used to merge them and show it as an edit.
Editing posts is banned, actual double posting isn't.

avatar
eyeball226: Am I right in thinking that double posting would be allowed if it wasn't for the fact that the forum merges them with an edit?
avatar
Zchinque: Yes. Double posting is normally used in place of edits. That doesn't work here.
But it does work now, providing there's enough of a time span between posts. 2 hours is enough apparently.

Yes. I find that quite useful as it means I can reply to multiple posts easily instead of constructing one mega-post. It'd be nice to know exactly what the time limit is though...
Even further off topic, I see I screwed up some of the formatting in my previous post... damn I wish I could edit it.

You could always just copy the posts together into one post and clear one completely out....it'll leave the post space there but noghing else though.

Still, I supposed OP could make an exception to clear up the double posts he made.

I've been lurking this thread because it`s interesting to watch, but I feel I can be helpful here. Log out and post anonymously if you need to break a post so you can double post, that way the posts won`t merge because there is a post because there is a post between them, unless there is some problem with that I'm unaware of?

Good idea, but 1: That post was a mistake as what I suggested IS in fact against game ruels thus I rescind it. and 2: Eyeball made the posts already so he can't break them up.
