From what Vagabond said, the Linux thing seems fairly likely.

...

Though LucasArts would be nice(r).
I'm hoping it's either Lucasarts, Take Two, or Microsoft, but it's probably just a new game release. TET did say they'd be releasing one new-ish game and one old game during the sale.

Vagabond: I know what's coming. It's a doozy.

Angry nerds that have been complaining for months will soon go to rest.

rampancy: You know, that line, plus the GOG video of the world blowing up, actually makes me seriously think that there's a good chance they'll be bringing System Shock 2 to GOG. Either that or Grim Fandango + LucasArts. I don't think any other requests have elicited as much bitching and whining from the Peanut Gallery than those two.
Well angry nerds have been complaining about that for years, not just months. If they really got SS2, wouldn't they make an ENORMOUS deal out of it? Somebody suggested making it seem like Shodan had taken over the site - that's what a release like that deserves. ;)

LucasArts? Well, TET said they were working on them, Microsoft, or Take 2, and were pretty darn close to securing a deal.

Okay, I can respect that. ;)

Yeah, for those of us that dont use Linux Lucasarts would be cooler. :P
Nothing's coming, chill out everyone. It's the 19th here in Australia and if your gazing towards the future, I am there and I can safely tell you nothing has changed.

(So, How does the world end on the 21st anyways? Does it end one timezone at a time? This has always baffled me :P)
The End...of waiting for System Shock 2!?!

If so, GOG admins, it will also be the end of me writing in/voting for "System Shock 2" in every poll you put on your facebook page.

Not trying to bribe you but...you know...think of the children.

The children who haven't been able to play System Shock 2 yet.
if its walking dead it means im going to be Divorced for spending so much $ -- its ok, i get the computer!
I've never played System Shock 2, so it would be something I'd get to see what all the hype is about.

I could see Lucasarts being something this huge though. Right after the buyout, they signed a deal with Gamestop to sell the old PC games on their download site. It wouldn't be too far fetched to think they have signed here also.

DCT: Actually I can think of 1 other request that has elicited as much umm.. "heated discussions" from the Peanut Gallery

TET said peoples wallets will hurt even more, A linux release of most games wont hurt my wallet.

Clearly, the Mayans predicted that aliens from the center of the galaxy would shoot a high-gravity beam at the sun to destroy it completely at noon GMT. I know this because of my learnings.

Oh, I'm quite disappointed, my research indicated that Earth was going to be the ball in a game of pong created by higher powers.
I never thought much of hint announcement or announcement in general but this almost gave me goose bumps. I hope it's a GOG feature, a new release or something else than a simple sale. Games here are cheap as it is..

The success of pay what you want bundles shows games can never be too cheap :P

Nor mine but I just threw that out to show that there was one other thing that peanut gallery had been "vocal" about for the past few months
