15,504 ways to play!

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Once the holiday season gets closer, you have to decide what gifts to buy, what wrapping to use, which phone numbers to accidentally delete. There are many decisions to make as you get ready for the holidays, but one decision that we’re making easy for you is, “Should I buy anything from GOG.com’s Black Friday sale?” (The answer is “yes”, by the way. ;) Not only are we launching the sale early--in case you spend Friday in a turkey-induced coma--but we’re also giving you the power to pick your own promo!

In our Pick 5 & Pay $10 sale you pick 5 out of twenty fantastic indie games and pay $10 for them regardless of the game’s regular full price. That's $2 per game, for such titles like Torchlight, Resonance, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Botanicula, Geneforge 1-5, Uplink, To the Moon, and many others. Seven of these games are both PC and Mac compatible, so everyone can enjoy!

The games are fantastic--and there are so many of them! That's why we started this sale early: to give you time to pick your dream-set of 5 games out of 15,504 possible combinations. You could look at this as another decision you have to make this year, but unlike trying to figure out who you should sit next to your slightly crazy uncle at Thanksgiving dinner, this one’s fun!

Black Friday marks the start of the “shopping season” for the holidays, so don’t forget to buy the gift of GOG for a gamer you love--or even just kind of like. You can’t spread much more holiday joy than this for just $10.
Been looking through this list and figuring out what I own either through Steam or GOG. I own on this list:

Alan Wake's American Nightmare
Torchlight
Machinarium
Trine
Darwinia
Multwinia

So taking those games out of the equation since I already own them, what games from this list would you recommend as my five?
This is a wonderful idea for a promo, unfortunetly. Aside from one or 2 of the inde games, none of these would ever work of my computer which for lack of a better word, is terrible. Geneforge and gemini rue look cool but not worth the hastle.

Resonance is a must. I'd also recommend Gemini Rue and the Blackwell Series.
This is a great promo. Thanks! I already got my $10 worth just from Symphony alone.

Uplink should run on just about anything. Same with Machinarium and Gemeni Rue. And I assume the Blackwell bundle and Resonance by extension. Oh, Defcon is pretty undemanding too. Torchlight MIGHT run. It scales pretty well IIRC.
It's a long shot, but if anybody owns Resonance and Alan Wake's American Nightmare, and only wants three games from this promo, I'd love to split the bundle. I think someone else can redeem duplicate games another owns from the pack, right?

yup, it can be done.
Does Multiwinia offer any advantage over Darwinia, other than multiplayer?

mondo84: ...Sorry, I haven't been taking screenshots during the last year or so when these discussions come up. I don't need to win an e-argument that badly. :)
Perfectly understandable. We all work with our inaccurate memories only. However in this light it might be a bit better to more often use "I think", "It might be", "probably" instead of "is" or "was" which hints at a very high level of confidence, next to fact.

So it might be that the same people complain about too high prices and about too low discounts although I even there find some logic as already posted.

Anyway the promo is really good.

Fixed.

rambell: I recommend Torchlight, longer playing time, great rpg. For Alan though, maybe wait till the other game goes on sale and nab it along with American Nightmare?
I really want to get Resonance but I have most of the games already :( Pity I can't just get 1 single game.
Yup, went for Torchlight eventually - thanks for the tip in any case, good to know I went for the right one ;)

Actually, I got Gemini Rue a second time (got it in some game bundle a while back) - it's hands down one of the best adventures I've ever come across, so the dev deserves all the support he can get...

Can't wait go give Resonance and To the Moon a try :D

Good bundle for me, a few I wanted, just enough to get myself 1 $10 bundle and be happy. :)
No breaking bank, but some new games to play.. and another copy of Torchlight, so that I have it on GOG .. becauseIlikemy GOG shelf as much as I like my Steam library.
(Point for GOG: DRM free. Point for Steam: Convenience. :p)
I was curious and had to check the math in the announcement.

mondo84: So, 20! / [ 5! * (20-5) ! ] = 2432902008176640000 / ( 120 * 1307674368000) = 15504
ahem

20! / ( 5! * 15!) = 16*17*18*19*20 / (2*3) / (4*5) = 16*17*3*19 = (16*3)*(17*19) = 48*323 = 14544 + 960 = 15504

Hey, you no longer want people to "BUY RESONANCE" anymore!
