My favorite video game memory? Man that was back when I was 7 and I beat Kingdom Hearts 1... Man... That final boss was hard... I remember timing all it's attacks so I could refight that same boss with all the default items...

*Sniff* I miss the days where games were awesome as hell...
Thanks for the giveaway!

In for the 2nd option. Best memory of mine would be playing Wolfenstein 3D. It was the first game I ever played on the PC. My father works at the University, and we didn't have a lot of money so buying a PC was out of the question (early 90s PC were't so cheap) so my father borrowed one from the University for 1 week. I was blown away by the game, I was 4yo then but i can remember every moment playing that game. It remained my favorite game of all time.
I'm not really keen on "The Best ....", because if there is no real specifications for it, its all fake. Best looking car/woman, best song and such.

For some reason I just thought of Robin Hood...
I was playing Team Fortress 2. The gametype was balloon race. Objective is to go through few checkpoints on a balloon and be first back to the start/finish. All this time you fight with the opposing team in the air and on the ground. The map was really huge. From the final checkpoint, there is a left turn and then a long straight. A very steep decline of the hill. At the bottom another left turn before the finish. That straight is very long. I'm not good in visual measurement, but 300-400 yards/metres long, with height difference of 100-150 yards/metres. (for visual reference, the downhill straight in this video I found on youtube EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuHrzi7JHAo 0:) ) I was using the huntsman, the bow the guy in video is using. My team's balloon was just at the bottom of the hill (I was on it), the other team was just starting the turn on top of the hill.
I aimed, way above the opponents balloon to compensate for the gravitational fall of the arrow, and way ahead of their balloon (left of it) to compensate for their lateral movement to the left. Our ship was moving all this time and just started turning.
I released the arrow. 1 second. 2 seconds. 3 seconds. I thought, damn, I was sure I aimed it good and compensated enough for movement. BANG! Headshot! I chat yelled, ROBIN HOOD.
What an adrenaline rush. And this was my first such attempt, which I then replicated on many occasions, backed up with ROBIN HOOD.
I really became Robin Hood when using bow and arrow in TF2. No matter where, how far, how fast, I was and still am, when I return to the game, dropping opponents with utmost accuracy/precision.

I will enter for the $5.99 prize.

My favourite gaming memory is beating ADOM legitimately for the first time. I had been playing for a while, and been getting better at it, and then it all came together for my character and I fought my way to the bottom of the caverns of chaos, closed the chaos gate, escaped back to the surface and lived happily ever after.
Entering for the 6 dollar game as I already own the second Witcher

I remember when I was a little kid, my older brother brought home a pirated version of M.A.X and he really liked playing it

I watched him play it often but never played it myself, though eventually I DID try to play it and to be honest when I did I had no idea what on earth was going on or what I was doing

Eventually though thanks to his guidance and advice, I understood how the game actually works and how to win. I was so proud of myself when I finally got the hang of it

The best thing about all of this is that I finally bought a legit copy from Interplay when I joined GOG :)

thanks for the giveaway!
Entering for the 6 dollar game. :)

As for the top gaming memory. It's probably when I first time found Cavern of the Incarnate in the Morrowind main quest line. I really don't know why, but it took me few days of wandering through the Ashlands to do so. I don't remember that I was ever that much frustrated about not being able to find something in a game (keep in mind that in that time I did not have access to the web, so googleing it wasn't an option). And so happy when I finally managed to find it.
Entering for Witcher. Thanks for this chance. +1

My favourite video game memory is from Wizardry 8. I played Wiz 7 in '92 and spent a lot of time playing it. It was really great game (and still is) and I was looking forward to play the sequel. But I had to wait 10 years to finally start playing Wiz 8. You know, 10 years in computer games is pretty long time, so difference between those two games is HUGE. I was positively "shocked" by this game, played it every day couple of hours for 2 months during my school vacation. It is one of my favourite game of all time and I'd do anything for another sequel.
Count me in for the $5.99 game, as I own TW2 already (thanks, KneeTheCap!). Thanks and +1 for your generosity, ellynandroid!

One of my most early gaming experiences was Loom, an awesome point-and-click adventure by old Lucasfilm. Before this title, I had played several Spanish text adventures, as well as the amusing Maniac Mansion, but this game hooked me (forever ever) to the genre of point-and-click adventures. :)

The settings, the innovative control system (actions are performed by music spells learned from situations through the game), the charisma of his hooded protagonist and the other characters, everything contributed to making me live its magical story, and even grieve due to certain events that happens in it.

I don't lose hope that eventually Loom get a remake as the one that is made for Monkey Island (new graphics with the option to set the original graphics), although I don't know if it would be profitable as MI...

I've enjoyed countless hours dedicated to this genre since then, and thus I'll always be thankful to Loom. :)

I'm for TW2.

One of my dearest memories is about Adventure on Atari. I was a tiny child, it was simple, but how I really enjoyed this game. I could spend hours and hours on their 3 levels.

Innocence.
I will enter! Thanks for the giveaway!

My memory: About six years ago I bought Syberia for $1.00 because it was cheap and the box said "Adventure game of the year". Prior to this I really didn't play computer games. When I started to play I was blown away by the scenery and the great story. I have been hooked on point and click adventures ever since and can't wait for Syberia 3, if it ever happens. I guess you never forget your first.
Thanks for the giveaway! I'm in!

Many years ago, I convinced some of my random friends to play Neverwinter Nights. Well, the very first time my friend G logged onto the server (it was a Shannara PW at the time), he immediately started rambling about being from "FNXia" (a forum we frequented at the time) and claimed that his job was "building tv's."

Since this was a role playing server, the guy running it (who just happened to be online) didn't take too kindly to G's behavior and tried to deal with it in in character. Unfortunately, G didn't "get it" and got REALLY obnoxious. In the end, he was taken aside, yelled at, lectured, but given a second chance. We still laugh about it.

Naturally, G blamed me for not telling him that he was supposed to be in character. Pretty much everyone I ever got to buy that game began with absolutely no concept of how to role play. Most of them still play to this day, however.
I'll enter for the $5.99 game.

Some of my favorite memories:
- Jumping out of my seat when I met Hans the first time at the end of Wolfenstein 3D, episode 1.
- Playing Doom when it was new.
- Beating Quake 3 Arena on Nightmare
- Finishing Final Fantasy 2 on the SNES. (Great game, I've played through it several times.)
- Playing Psychonauts. (Also a great game.)

The list could go on...
Thanks for doing a great giveaway ellynandroid

I am entering for Witcher 2.

I have a few moments I remember greatly as a gamer. My 1st memory is probably going to be when there was a ton of hype for Sega Genesis. They had that "Genesis Does, Genesis Does, You Can't Get this on Nintendo Genesis Does! Commercial. I was very blown away when they showed sonic running around and my mouth dropped when I saw the the games they showed on the commercial.

That very year x-mas was coming around and me and my siblings did not know what we were going to get. I being the present hunter always tried taking a peek to see what was going to be. I looked behind the big couch we had,I saw a bag, opened it a lil and literally almost screamed like a girl. I saw the words Sega Genesis on the box and saw Sonics finger in the air. I went nuts and told my siblings showed them where it was and we all went hyper.

We all tried to keep the fact we found the x-mas gift a secret but that was next to impossible being kids and they figured out we found the gift. We still had to wait til x-mas but boy when x-mas eve came around we all tore the box open, hooked up the tv and played for 16 hours straight. We had x-mas day breakfast at my grandparents that next day and guess what, they had bought use a few more Sega genesis games. I had buzzed around like you wouldn't believe that whole day with nothing but Sonic the hedgehog,Altered Beast, After Burner 2, Pat Riley Basketball and other games fresh on my mind.

My other most fantastic moment had to been when I turned 13 and the SNES had been out for quite awhile but I did not have one. In the evening of my bday my parents who had not been home most of the day because they had work (our grandmother lived with is so she watched us whenever they were not home). They came home together (which was odd to me cuz they worked different jobs at different times).

Being a kid of 13 I knew sometimes might not get any big present or anything cuz we had just moved into a new home. They whipped out a box wrapped in paper and said happy bday. I went to tare off some of the paper and saw the word Super. My eyes lit up and I ripped the rest off and it was a SNES w/Super Mario World All Stars. I got giddy as hell said thank you thank you thank you like 20 times gave them a huge as hell hug, then my siblings were like "can we play" my parents so go on ahead.

We all hooked it up and were instantly in in Mario Brothers heaven. We had already played Mario Brothers 1-3 so we went straight to playing the one we only played a bit at a friends house Super Mario World. Man I tell ya, we were up all night playing Super Mario World. Luckily for me my bday was on a friday that year so we got to play all weekend long before school started.

I have been gaming for quite a bit,and getting a family shared Sega Genesis, and my very own SNES were the biggest moments of my gaming childhood. I would of mentioned the day me and my siblings got the NES as a great day,But my stingy father got one that cost $90 and did not even come with Super Mario or Duck Hunt. So it was more a giant let down then a great day lol. Hope anyone you read this finds it entertaining. It was actually fun going doing memory lane about those two times ,even the let down time XD.

Thanks again for this contest I like these the most because you never know what people might say.
I'm in for Witcher 2! Thanks, android.

I don't have too many childhood memories at all because I have awful memory. First one that comes to mind is beating Super Mario World for the first time, after seeing my older brother beating it dozens of times (among other games) while I had zero gaming skills. Naturally I used the star way because the normal stages were too much for me, but it still felt pretty damn special.

The second one was anytime I went to my older cousins houses. Their family had more money than mine, so naturally they had fancier games as well. One of them had quite the collection of SNES games, and it was then that I met many future favorites of mine like DKC, Kirby Super Star, Mega Man X, Contra III. Naturally I lacked the skill to make progress at any of those games, but y'know, kids are easily impressible. The others had a Nintendo 64, and it was the same story, my first experience with many awesome games (the only one I remember is Mystical Ninja, maybe some Turok as well) (plus, it was 3D!) even though I couldn't take a few steps without the help of my older brother/cousins.

The third one, my introduction to PC gaming. My family was visiting some friends and they sent me to play with their son. So he decided to introduce me to the good ol Duke and some drunk Rednecks. The only thing I distinctly remember from that ocasion was my parents reactions when they saw me playing such violent games, and I remember that because they didn't let me play any video game at all for some time.

For the last one, something a bit more fresh (as in, after I got old enough to remember stuff more clearly). Back when I was 12 or something I bought this little game called Final Fantasy VII, because "some of the screenshots of the game reminded me of Ocarina of Time (go figure) and I didn't have a N64". At first I was disappointed when I learned how the game actually played, but little by little it grew on me and ended being one of my favorite games of all time.

Phew, I guess that's enough nostalgia for one post.
