Leroux: Own both, played one and a half chapters of the first, but find it kind of hard to stick with it. I guess mostly because of all the running to and fro, all the houses you can enter without anything of interest in them, all the loot containers without anything of interest in them (probably a leftover from NWN), and the combat system alternating between uninteresting (trash mobs) and frustrating (boss battles). I haven't given up hope though that it might get better later on or at least in Witcher 2, or in any case Witcher 3. Kind of weird, if I think about it, also because I read one book and didn't really like it all that much, but still want to believe the setting and characters are interesting, for whatever reason. ;)
To be honest...I do like the game, it's just that....I don't really like it as much as I should, given the whole praise :D
And it's not because of the mechanics, because there are mods for that (I play RPGs for the story, so if combat or other stuff are too tedious, I'm getting myself some mods!) but it's just the story, I guess.
I think there's something about the presentation that just doesn't let it get stuck in my mind, for some reason. But I'll surely get through the game and give The Witcher 2 a go =)
