Played and finished them both. Fantastic games.
I received a copy of the Witcher in the new members giveaway this past December (still very thankful for that) and I bought the Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition on eBay but have the backup copy from here, so technically I have it here as well (for what it's worth the game was still brand new when I got it). Reason why I bought it like that is because my download speed is not good enough for The Witcher 2 and I would just prefer install it on the system through the DVD drive. And I like physically owning things a lot.
In short, yes I have both technically here.

I own both games here on GoG and I'm currently working through my game backlog by playing Witcher 1. I'm up to act 4 in it so far so it won't be long before I can start up 2.
I have the boxed CE of the first one and redeemed it here for a no fuss, no DRM, no updates needed installer.
Bought the second here during the christmas sale.

I played through the first twice, the second time after I read all the books (also twice). I'm currently in Chapter I of the second game and I find combat pretty hard. I don't have much time to play so I don't have a lot of practice. I played through the tutorial and prologie twice and I think I started to get the hang of it.

So far I can't really say which one I like better, it just feels that the system (potions, combat, resting) worked better for me in the first game. On the other hand Witcher 2 already had some impressive scenes - the beginning with Triss in bed, the camp, the siege... I even like the fistfight quicktime game. Dice poker seems a lot harder and arm wrestling can be tough since the controls are pretty sluggish.
I own both games on gog and i owned them through the members generosity(gifts, etc). Thanks again to gog community. Have not finished either but more play time on TW1.

Grargar: I have both Witchers from here. I have completed the first one, but I found the combat in the second one so tedious that I have currently put it on hold.
i still dont get why most people had problems with the combat system in tw2, i love it and think its a huge improvement (if harder, then better).

also i own both witchers on steam, then discovered in summer 2012 gog and redeemed both on gog.

I will speak only for myself; It's just tedious and massively boring.

It's a lot more direct, meaning you have to do a lot more: active blocking, fast/strong attacks, evasive maneuvers. And no group style (keeping a lot of enemies at bay in the midst of the action). In TW1 you simply had to choose the right fighting style and keep clicking in the right rhythm. Disengage to when health becomes critical. TW2 plays more like an action game. And against a group of fast enemies it's pretty hard. Engage one and the rest will at once try to surround you. And getting surrounded or cornered means quick death (no group style).
I played through the first using potions in hard fights and relying on Aard and Igni. I never used bombs. I could defeat most enemies while talking to my wife at the same time.
In the second I started spamming bombs like hell since the signs seem very weak in the beginning and melee against a group is hell.
I'm playing on Normal, I don't even want to know what the higher difficulty levels play like. I'm not able to win if I'm not fully concentrated as is.

That said, except for the frustration of dying over and over, the system can be fun. It feels more like I'm actually fighting, instead of giving Geralt a few hints and he manages the rest.
I bought the second in this last sale, but missed the first. My OCD compels me to start from the beginning, and to wait for a good sale.
If I remember correctly I bought Witcher 2 here like 20% off or something. Then Witcher 1 was dirt cheap here and bought it too. Then Witcher 2 and Witcher 1 were dirt cheap in STEAM and bought them again to give a couple more bucks to CDProjekt. Then Witcher 3 was some 20% off here for preorder so I got it. That deal is still on.
I think the whole Witcher 3 hyping - what can I say? That trailer is pretty damn ace - finally pushed me to play the first two just in these last two/three weeks. Bought the first some three years ago, and the second during last year's summer sale.

I quite enjoyed both even though the first does have a lot of running to and fro, and some awfully repetitive combat. (wait, click, wait, click... click, click.... c-c-combo breaker! =P)

Have you played the first game at all? All that timed clicking gets awfully dull after a while. At least the combat can be a bit more varied in the sequel (bombs, traps, (somewhat useless) throwing knives) though the use of signs in combination with swordplay still tends to trump most in a lot of situations.
I own all three :) and it makes me quite happy!
The first time I had purchased The Witcher 1, was back in 2007. Several years later, I decided to re-buy the 1st Witcher again on Steam along with second game in the series. Here I am today yet again buying them on GOG.com.
Played Witcher 1 five times, and Witcher 2 four times. Two of the best RPGs ever made.
I had both on disc but sold my discs a while back, 2011 I think, and replaced them with GOG versions.

I've completed the first Witcher once and the second game twice. I didn't love the original game, mainly due to a poor translation and boring combat, so I haven't got a big urge to replay it. Maybe sometime down the road.
