So.. a funny question. How much time does everyone have to actually play games?

I love gaming, it's probably my favourite hobby and way to relax. But I rarely have time to actually play games any more. I've bought a few games since finding GOG (mostly classics I loved when on sale) and other than completing Dungeon Keeper and sinking loads of hours into FTL I've hardly touched the others. The last game I really put a lot of time into was Bravely Default on my 3DS, which I loved but as much as I intend to finish it I haven't got around to finishing the last few chapters.

I've just bought Mario Kart 8 (which comes with another free game), there's loads of Wii U and 3DS games that I haven't bought and played yet and more coming out all the time. Never mind all the PC games I'd like to.

I know I'm not alone in this because from what I gather lots of people on here seem to buy a dozen games every sale and have hundreds of titles in their libraries, and I can't see that you could possibly have time to play them all.

So, between life and all the other distractions, do you get time to play games?
I'm self employed and a severe insomniac, so more time than I really want there to be.
See, I'm self employed too (newly mind) and that's half the problem, working so much I never have time to relax and enjoy some time with a game...

Tell your boss hes a twat and you need more time off.

Oh, and you'll drink on your breaks if you want to! ;)

Typo fixed :3

I don't set aside blocks to time to play games, but I do have time when I'm doing other things. Generally games don't hold my attention unless there's multiplayer and their tears to collect.
I don't have time to play games. I make it.
Usually I have 2-4 hours of free time, which I can use to play videogames, so 2-4 hours.
I work a standard 9-5 with little in the way of responsibilities outside of work (no family yet) so I usually get in a couple hours of gaming each day during the week, then during the weekends can pretty much game as much or as little as I want.
I would love be able to play more then I get to right now. I tend to play handheld games more because they are easy to move around with and pick up at any time. Right now I am working on Yoshi's New Island. I have several Wii games I have not even touched that I would love to sit down and get sucked into such as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Super Mario Galaxy 2. As for PC games I try to get in a hour a day to play and relax.

Edit: Although since finding the forums here I tend to get sucked in on the threads.

I'm lucky in that my wife enjoys spending the evenings reading so I get to play video games :)
I work 8-5, so during week I get 2-3 hours a day and on weekends around 6 a day
Sometimes I play more games and sometimes I read more books with my free hours
I play at nights, but not that often, since I also have chores and stuff to do, so it's not that much time. I also have a decent sized GOG and Steam shelf, so I actually have more games than I need, but I always end up fetching cheap games, fully aware that i might actually not have the time to play them. Maybe when I'm older I'll have all the time in the world, but it's very likely I won't be into games that much by then, so there's a chance it's all a wasteful investment.

Any recommendations for someone who likes to read but is new to it?
I don't have any time to play games, I'm too busy hanging out it in here.
I used to play daily. Sadly, having a job that requires me to be up hours before the sun is, and being in a relationship, has cut my game-playing down drastically.

These days I pretty much only play on weekends, usually about six hours each night.
