While GoG does stand out for being a drm free platform, GoG is even more about gaming, GoG will be the first people to admit there are games they would like to bring to this site that for whatever reason they are unable to. (Star Wars games for example are on steam and a great many of us would love to see them here)

If GoG were against the promotion of other platforms, even for games they do not have rights to distribute themselves, then they would have said something by now or moderated the promotional posts. While DRM free is the backbone from which this site has come into being it is also a gaming site, and not just PC/Mac gaming we have many posts on console gaming, just chill out and enjoy what you choose to play.

There's no joke, my friend. Sacrifice is one of the best games ever made, but one of the least-played as well. It's just not fair that a master-piece like that to go unnoticed for so long. So I made it my mission to spread the word of Sacrifice until everybody in the world has played it.

To the OP:

The makers of the witcher (cd projekt) are the owners of GOG.

The witcher is available on steam!

Thanks for clarifying ; )
@Novotnus: Humor him, make agreeable gestures and don't make eye contact.

Just because GOG admins are laid-back people, it doesn't mean they are happy about it. Some users are simply abusing their hospitality :)

As I said it is not about if the game is available or not on GOG. It's about DRM-free philosophy, by advertising deals on these services you support DRM. Maybe it doesn't matter to you but it matters to me. I did not tell anyone what to do in the opening post, I simply asked to use some common sense, whether you will do it or not it's up to you :)

WBGhiro: Welcome To GoG, enjoy games. No matter where they come from.

aivadroid: It matters to me. I am not trying to be a fanboy and quite frankly I made here an account only because of free Duke Nukem 3D, but after staying around for a couple of days I can see the true quality of this service. It's not about old games to me, it's about DRM-free games. Can't wait for my payday :)
Welcome to GOG, however, I recommend not telling people what to do...enjoy the forums, and enjoy GOG games.

lol, and maybe if GOG offered every game that might matter, but it does not. Steam has DRM free games, Gamersgate has DRM free games, etc. You might want to stick around longer before shoving your opinions down everyone else's throats. Just because I purchase games on other sites does not mean I support DRM...i personally do not give a crap about DRM except for some really nasty examples in the past. Steam might be an extra step to play a game but for 90% of the time I do not even notice it and it has an offline mode if you do things properly. I love GOG but I also love Steam and I have spent plenty of money at both.

You have your opinion, I have mine. But you are telling people what to do, even in the OP.

Good day to you.

I respectfully disagree with the OP.
LOL. New poster shouldn't be so hasty. I bought a game on GOG just yesterday because someone pointed out it was on sale on Steam that morning. Without the attention I'd have never checked it out.
Please don't preach, I am not religious.

That's the spirit! The best thing you can do for GOG is buying their games and get others to do so also.
The forums being so active and diverse is something that makes me visit GOG at least daily, which then makes me see the sales, the new releases, makes me read about interesting games on here etc.
That I can read about sales on other sites here on GOG makes me visit GOG first instead of going to those other sites looking for deals. I'm lazy like that.
So no, I don't want to be send anywhere else but continue to read here about other sites as well, please.

I agree that supporting drm-free is best, but I'm on the side of live and let live. If you don't like people discussing other services then you can ignore them since they usually do make what they are discussing quite clear in the topic.

Being open is what gog is all about, plus even steam does apparently have some drm-free releases that one can launch without going through the client:

so pull up a chair and relax a little ^^
