GameRager: Imo(Just stating what's on my mind, here), the ones that have been here longer tend to give more of a "pass" for various Faux Pas to those they know/those who have also been around a long time vs. those who haven't been here long.

I dunno if this is subconsciously done or not.....it is noticeable, though, if you pay attention long enough.
That may be true, but it can also be confusing for new members. A new member sees that thread and says "Hey, I'm kind of curious about that too." Suddenly he gets downrepped and then says, "Screw this...I'm going back to Steam." Maybe a little extreme. Just saying though.

Agreed.....I almost left a few times due to the same problems. It can be daunting/overwhelming(especially if you're very self-conscious as I am/others can be) sometimes.

Well, if you love gaming, start talking about games. You've talked about yourself, about your rep, about the gifts you wish, about the gender of the forum participants... But you haven't said a single thing about games yet. And this a gaming community. It's very simple to blend in, really.
