Mromson: Steam makes keys freely available to publishers, for free. So it wouldn't cost gog anything extra to provide them. I'm asking if there has been any official information about this. And yes, I presume that Steam Witcher 3 keys will work on gog.com, just as Witcher 1 and 2 keys did.
It's been made official that they don't provide steam keys, and that you cannot activate here. Good lord, no ones lying to you.

I'm sorry, but do you have a source for this information?

Only about the other 30 threads about this same exact question. GOG doesn't provide steam keys and never will, and there are 30 threads about this same exact question but i will try to find it.

GOG never ever provided Steam keys and is not going to do so for TW3.

As for redeeming a Steam key for TW3 here, like with TW1 & TW2, people have contacted support and the official answer was "NO" - there are a couple of posts stating this, but I don't have them handy, you have to go look for them in the official TW3 pre-order thread.

Or my post above yours. :P

Mromson: I read on steam that Witcher 3 will be available on SteamOS, does that mean that pre-ordering Witcher 3 on gog.com will also grant me Steam keys, or is it better to just buy the game on Steam and then activate it on gog.com?

pimpmonkey2382: Jesus harold christ on rubber crutches, gog does NOT give steam keys.

And you CANNOT activate the game on gog from steam
Lol you can actually activate steam versions of W1 and 2 on gog ;)

But yeah since gog announced w3 all witcher fans awoke from hibernation and are making the same thread over and over again with the same question :p There is already a BIG pre order thread in blue.

So in other words; no official reply has addressed this issue, beyond a couple of supposed "support replies" (who are unlikely to provide new information about anything).

Also I don't understand the haste for pre order. The game will not run away nor will gog. You still have 9 months left to pre order. Just wait because by pre ordering the release date won't change.

Ok we all like CDR and GOG but seriously this necromancy of fanboys is getting silly :p

Yes, CLEARLY GoG has always been Good Old Games and they have NEVER changed from their original path... -_-' An official response and an official response, not a private customer service reply. I'm only interested in official replies, and in the event of a "no", I'm interested in the reasoning behind said decision. Anything short of that is hearsay and shouldn't be a valid answer to the question.
