drmlessgames: I dont like the new theme. And, what does this ready to play do? I do like that finally the Impulse client is light as any other browser window, instead of the heavy bloated crap it was before.

i like the new look
The homepage feels cluttered, but I like that they keep the Featured Publishers on the bottom so there's really no need to scroll down. I like the way everything's organized on the catalog page now as opposed to before where looking at game details then pressing the back button would not load your previous view. Only thing I really don't like is the white background since I prefer bright font on black background. Overall it feels like a lateral upgrade/update.
I've not decided about the GUI yet (have to use it a bit to see how I feel about it). At first glance, there are some changes I like and some I don't.
I don't like the white background though. That's got to go.
I love how all you guys talk about it like your opinion makes a difference.

You're welcome.

Doesn't that pretty much sum up 99.999% of posts on the internet? It's a discussion, so opinions are pretty much a given. I don't think anyone's under the impression that what they post here is going to affect Impulse in the least.
For what it's worth, I've also left feedback on Stardock's forums about the white background. And from what I've seen, there are a lot of others that also dislike it. Stardock's actually quite good about listening to customer feedback, so there's a good chance posting our opinion there WILL actually make a difference.
*edit* Looks like our opinions/complaints have paid off. Frogboy (Stardock's CEO) has stated that darker backgrounds - among other features - are in the works. So... I guess maybe our opinions do make a difference.

Hooray!
One thing I love about Stardock/Impulse: they do not aim to appease, but they do take customer feedback seriously.
as a guy with an older pc and less advanced chipset( 2004 games are about as modern as it gets for me), I don't really have a reason to go to impulse. I already have accounts at steam, gog and gamersgate. I have yet to see an impulse game that my pc could run that was either cheaper than the other services, or something that was exclusive to that site. Like gamersgate has some of the older thief games (I also bought the first europa universalis for $1) , steam has freedom force, and you all know what gog has.
So I still haven't made an account there and don't see myself doing so soon
Impulse comes after GOG and Gamersgate for me because of the absence of actual game backups and since I'm not in the EU I do get fairer prices.

Sins of a Solar Empire runs really well on older machines, it's a shame Demigod is so resource hungry, because the game could easily be run with lower system requirements.

You can backup your games in Impulse.
Nah I can't run Sins of a Solar Empire. I need vertex shader 2.0 and HW T&L on my pc. Like I said my pc is primitive. There are some games from 2003 I can't even run (FarCry, Broken Sword 3) I have such a huge backlog of games on my pc , old xbox and xbox 360 that I'm not in a hurry to upgrade though. I have dozens of games I have barely even started. Not to mention that there are still plenty of runnable games that I haven't even purchased yet.

Is it surprising that a space game with little happening and bad close up textures runs better then a game with lots of characters on screen and good textures?
And yes, I'm well aware of the laser fights... The point is, these space games use alot less stuff then games like Demigod use.
