When playing Roche path, I had an old friend dwarf told me about how Gerald saved Triss in their last trip together.

Somehow, I miss that same story playing in Iorveth path.

I think every girl wants to win a man for herself, including Triss. If she didn't tell Gerald everything, it is normal, too normal.

It is implied that Yennefer changes a lot by Lothe's account. She also has amnesia. For people who don't read the book like me, Triss is everything we know.

Triss is ok... I'm more interested in Saskia than Triss though.

Aaden: I don't think they're trying to make her a saint. I've got the feeling that they're building up to the point when Geralt finds out that she betrayed him - either in the blunt, obvious emotional way, with only reluctantly telling about Yennefer and never revealing the full truth about Geralt's past, while trying to win him for herself, or maybe even in more than that one way, with political plots etc playing a role. I'm looking forward to that and willfully play along by trusting Triss and developing affection to her.

Germanicanus: I approve of your theory and I hope it will be true. Triss is becoming more and more OCC and her status as token invulnerable character is another reasons why I cannot stand her. She was far more involved in political conspiracy than f.e Sheala/Sile (who ironically replaced Sabrina as Philippa's right hand). Have you read the fourth book with the iconic confrontation between Yennefer and Triss? Guess who refrained from helping her best friend, ex-lover and little sister-figure. Besides, I dislike her for casting fireballs at my back - so annoying!
Yeah, I read them all. But I guess I'll have to reread them some time (for now, there's the song of ice and fire waiting for me.. but after that, or maybe between two books of that series). So far, I only read them once and in parts it really got over my head. It's difficult to keep all the political groups and their interests apart and which spy works for whom and the interests of every single sorceress/sorcerer etc.
Long story short: I have to admit that I don't even recall that particular fight between the two of them. Could you give me a hint/some context?
Oh, and: Full agreement on the fireballs. lol

Sure. [SPOILERS]
As you remember, Yennefer was searching for Geralt and Ciri. She contacted Triss via a magic mirror. Triss was surprised yet happy to see her old friend, but Yennefer quickly sensed something wrong and asked Triss if she is hiding something. Triss had declined but then Philippa walked in (Yennefer implies Phil and Triss have an affair, which is most likely true). When Yennefer asked them to make a deal: her information regarding Vilgefortz (the main nemesis) for offering help to find Ciri and Geralt, both of them refused, Philippa's declaring she left the Lodge (Yennefer was present during the first meeting). Yennefer then directly asked Triss - and received no response. Then all of sudden Triss started to beg her for forgiveness. It all ends with Yennefer's "No, Triss, never". Such a powerful scene. Triss' unwillingness to help Yennefer is even more tragic, considering she then went to spy her on Philippa's behalf, and before that she completely ignores Yennefer during the Lodge's meeting when Yennefer needed her the most. I am sure W3 will touch this issue and Yennefer won't be fully acceptive of her ex-bff.

Triss? Nah

I'm all about Sile. Something about a mean sorceress really turns me on. I'd want to screw her w/ nothing but that crazy headdress on.

*raise hand* Me too!
The only other chick in a video game i would be willing to make that same statement for is Leliana from DAO, another hot sexy red head.

Actually, Shani was a red head ............. My wife is a redhead........... Hmm, I think that I am seeing a pattern...............
Leliana is Hors Concurs! There will never be a chick like her! The day another companion do this fusion thing Leli did with my Warden, I might consider it.

skylineR390: She is just drop dead gorgeous, and her voice is so feminine, so captivating.....

I wonder who the voice actress is.
I am forced to agree, she is "hot" (well, as much as a bunch of 1 & 0's can be!) The character designers, not to mention the concept artists are true masters! I've no doubt that they hold Bachelors/Master degrees in fine arts, However, I prefer the Polish language, (Especially Geralt's polish language vers) English and Russian language over the American voice actors...(Geralt/Triss) They are too much of an immersion breaker for me.

Never liked Triss and her conspiratorial ways in the first game. Still dislike her.
Actually of all the racial hatreds in the game, the hatred by nobility against Sorcerers and sorceresses is quite legit. All they seem to do is conspire against them and use innocent people as fodder in the process. Even if they think they are doing the right thing they are so delusional that the ends justify the means.
Really?
I felt her voice acting was very ordinary. Not terrible mind you, but didn't quite stand up to the quality of most of the voice acting in the game.

Was actually more fond of her in the first game.
I think they made her too much of a damsel in distress in TW2. In the first game she was a powerful sorceress who actually saved Geralt's butt a couple of times and pulled a lot of strings in the main story, the only thing left of the original Triss was a lovely ass.

Aaaah, right! Thanks! That helped my memories, "No, Triss, never" was a great trigger.

That in mind, I'm even more looking forward to Yennefer's first appearance and Triss' first encounter with her. It's bound to be a great, emotional storyline. All the potential it has!
Yennefer suffering from Amnesia, too; Triss (and Geralt!) not knowing how much Yennefer knows; probably a decision "Triss or Yennefer?" (I figured it's an easy one for you, but there's so many players who have become very fond of Triss and for whom it will probably be one of the toughest ever, depending on how good CDPR can bring across the connection between Yen and Geralt); all the plotting and betrayal involved; maybe even a necessary alliance with both and it's never clear who to trust and who's primarily trying to shaft the other; reconciliation? ...... continue endlessly.

OH! MY! GOD!
I don't care about Triss, for all I know she might be a treacherous sorceress who is only manipulating Geralt for her own ends. She certainly is hiding many things. Didn't like her in the first game either. Good looks don't equal a great character.

Saskia however is a great. She got ideals and is one of the few genuinely good persons in the game. She might not be what she seems to be, but that's fine. A virgin farmgirl that slays a dragon and becomes a champion of the common people wouldn't fit into the dark game world anyway.

And the point in chapter 3 on Iorveths path where you have to decide if you either want to rescue Triss or remove the spell from Saskia? Easy: saving Saskia, the emotionally and rational sound choice.

At the moment I'm playing the the game a second time and I'm not sure if I'll join Roche this time, knowing how this will end for Saskia.

How will it end for Saskia?
I don't consider it a major spoiler to say you can spare her in Roche's path.
Don't miss out on Roche's path, everyone needs to play both paths.
Sure, you don't have to kill her in Roche's path, but you can't remove the spell, right?. So she will stay mindcontrolled by the sorceresses. And I'm not sure if that's preferable to death.
