Themken: After six weeks it is hardly noticable here.

If I would weigh 116kg (18 stone 3), I could probably not fit through my home door...
:P

I'm actually down to a 40 inch waist. I doubt I'll ever be the 30-32 inch waist I was in college.

And yes I can get thru doorways.
I had to quit my gym.

They didn't have an ashtray on the StairMaster.

drmike: I'm actually at 255 lbs/ 116kg which is 20 pounds less than my highest weight.

Been holding around there for quite a while.
How did you get to this weight.
If you dont mind me askin'.
And how are you maintaining it, mike? Curious about the lifestyle required to get there, and then the things you're doing that are preventing you from going down right now.
I went to the gym yesterday. I weigh 216 pounds currently, last year when I started working out, I weighed close to 260.

However, the last half of the year last year I slacked off with the gym severely. My goal is to get down to 180-190 pounds. I am a 37 year old male about 6 foot, so I feel that's a healthy weight considering I live in a cold state (Ohio).

Fairfox: Reallllllly bad ice at teh mo which has deaded mah walkin' ability Complete Lee :/. Sidewalks = no go zones an' roads = vehicular death (a bit). Can't even walk one block. Can't even walk to teh end of teh street. WHY IS ICE LIEK THIS (caps).
This is sort of hilariously and dangerously funny to imagine, especially as you type it. I've been lucky because 1) I still get in my solid dog walks despite the icy chill and 2) I GOT TO SKATE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 3 YEARS!!!

I swear it's been that long since we've had a solid enough freeze to skate on the ponds. Maybe even 4 years? Sure I've done outdoor rinks, but there's nothing quite like lacing up the skates and hitting up a local pond.
best poster I ever read:
We don't officaly have an exercise program here, we have
people running off at the mouth.
people jumping to conclusions.
people pushing their weight around, while other exercise thier self control.

Between all that and work, when would we have time to exercise!?!?

Seriously, I need to get back on the eliptical, get my fat backside back down to 225lbs, just wish the cats would stop staring and laughing....

Just putting this up there as there are a lot of myths concerning food and excersize.
May it be an eyeopener to you as it changed my life (lost 10kg and fitter).

When it is super slippery, you cannot walk normally but have to shuffle and not step on your heels, like many seem to do.

Sugar and destroyed fat can account for most of our inflammations and triggers cancer cells more rapidly. White fat cells also is constantly hungry for more energy (it's also partly why you are more hungry the more fat you have on you), while the brown fat cells triggers more back to energy.

According several studies, fasting seems to turn on more brown cells to speed up recovery. Alcohol, sugar and white flour, hardened fat and not enough sleep hinders the body to recover properly.

I was about over 126kg (that's the last mark I checked) at one point - went down to 85 in just a few months before even hitting the gym in that period. Before that, I believed so hard on running and theadmills that I broke down more muscle fibers and were chronic tired. I went up a bit after meeting my gf, love-kilos as they say xD

Now I'm mostly doing the "amateur" Arnold to get more muscles and eat fat and proteins to burn more energy... So yeah, what we eat is literally killing us.

EDIT: Normal sugar consists of fructose and glucose. I'm amazed that some want fat people to eat more banana and such when it's really glucose that is better to eat. I stay totally clear of fruits and only eats some oranges around Christmas.
