amok: I may be slow, but I just realised it is actually quite a good package. It contains: Doom Doom II Doom III Resurrection of evil Lost Missions (new levels) If you are on of the two people on the world without Doom, the deal is not bad.

StingingVelvet: It's a really good console deal but chances are any Steam user on PC has all those already except the new level pack.
I have none so great deal for me :)

For me too. I'd buy it, but well, it's Bethesda/Zenimax, so I'm not sure they'll give us a chance to actually do so.
It's Steamworks, so no.

only? no... :(
After researching a little about this, I think I really want it. Any opinions so far?

I'm certain they give you an option to buy a box with a key in it if you are willing to pay the tithe for 1C Publishing ;-).
I have the original on PC(along with all the other Doom games) so I'll probably grab it on PS3 after a price drop.

SimonG: From what I heard, the BFG edition will be censored worldwide to accommodate the German market. http://www.schnittberichte.com/news.php?ID=4069 The news are a bit older, though.

NightK: What's being censored? O.o That sucks really, and no I didn't pre-order because of steamworks, even though I enjoyed Doom 3.
I can't speak for Doom 3 since I haven't really looked into it but I am pretty sure the version of Doom II in the collection will probably have the secret Wolfenstein levels cut for obvious reasons.
If that's the current state, they really could've cut them altogether: http://youtu.be/1snCRIl16ks I'm still fond of Doom 3, as far as the shooting is concerned it was the best FPS of the hotly contested year 2004. This doesn't seem to feature enough new content to warrant another purchase.

So... censorship, Steamworks and missing DOOMs? The only thing I was interested in was the extra missions, since I own all the others. Think I'll skip this.
Think it´s lame to make an id game steamworks, specially since the source code the all their games is available and open source.
Yeah, I think this has probably been one of the biggest disappointments of the year so far. After Tim Willits was sat there going on about how they'd managed somehow to get the game through uncut for Germany, turns out he was lying out of his backside after all.

id is now dead to me. Any company that sees the need to lie outright can fucking rot in hell for all I care.

You didn't get the memo when Rage was released?
Not getting. Doom 3 was an OK experience for me for the first 10 minutes. Then it turned into a grind to play. Resurrection of Evil didn't change much for me either. Pass.

Huh?

Rage wasn't censored, and while it wasn't exactly id's best moment, it wasn't an overly bad game either.

Still, it did mark the start of id's steady decline.
