Novotnus: Is there anybody who doesn't own it? :)
That was the question asked when Fallout was given away for free and TET said that even though it is one of the most frequently bought games here, only around 20% of all GOG members had it. This can be partly explained by the fact that not all people like cRPGs, or that they just don't care much for Fallout, but it does show that even games as high up on the bestselling list are owned by only a minority of GOGers. So giving TW:EE for free, while puting TW 2:EE on sale, would certainly bring in some additional attention to GOG.

A few don't. But......the idea of giving away a free game on GOG usually, I think, is to get NEW customers and if they please a few old customers in the meantime, they're happy. After all, most of us lot are already a 'captive audience'. A free game might add a few more to the group :) Especially as, when they gave away Fallout they had over a million downloads (I think I'm correct?) in just 24 hours. Now THAT is a good advertising campaign :)

ET3D: Maybe GOG will release nothing. There's been a lot of demand for that lately.
NOTHING CONFIRMED!!!!

Yep. I was one of those that didn't own it so was thrilled to get it for free.

Kristian: What is TL&C?
Isn't that that FMV game with nudity in it?

That number is true for GOG only though. I would guess that a lot of people own it from other places (Steam, GG or they might be one of those old fashioned people who own a boxed copy (like me))

Boxed copies right here! All 3 of them, the good old ones. And for nostalgia's sake also a steam copy of all three, and because my boxed copies are back home, some 1000-odd miles away :(

and yeah on GoG i'm in the 80% that don't have a copy here

I don't think it would be The Witcher. Nor would it be TW2 (which just had a weekend deal on Steam, ergo giving it away free would be a *major* dick move). The Witcher as a game has basically no value now, with its small price (it's about £7 now, no?) and frequent sales where it drops to under £2. So if they gave it away, it wouldn't really mean anything. Yeah, it might be a case of 20% of GOG users own it (to use the Fallout figure), but factor in the retail copies, the Steam, GamersGate, etc. copies. It's a game that has sold millions of copies.

So even though CDProjekt (RED and otherwise) are ramping up the marketing for The Witcher 3, I cannot believe they would give either Witcher game away at this point.
