Hello everyone, many of you might disagree with me, but I think it would benefit Galaxy greatly. Think CS 1.6.

Obviously, in order for it to succeed they would have to implement some sort of system against hacking and the like.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you like to see a competitive FPS on the Galaxy service?

Given that nowadays 99.9% of all released FPS have multiplayer in some form, even if it makes no sense at all, it's probably unavoidable. Since no other system really succeeded in preventing hacks / cheats and I don't see that changing - I still won't bother / care.
A big, huge no. Just no.
I do disagree. Assumeing that galaxy works with all/most of GOGs existing library, then the key is, galaxy will start with a large library of existing games, as well as a large customer base of people with a significant investment in their own collections.

It won't. At least not in the way that multiplayer is facilitated by the Galaxy system. Galaxy is like Steamworks. A game has to be made for it to use the matchmaking/server browsing functionality.

Of course, games that use their own systems for multiplayer, such as UT2004, will work just fine in Galaxy, because they'll work exactly the same as if they'd just been launched on their own. But Galaxy won't add anything to them.
No desire or interest for a fps on GOG Galaxy, too many crazy people would show up and ruin it

This is exactly what I mean.
I want a multiplayer adventure game set in a dark, gritty fantasy world with interesting lore, and a world that has lots of cool characters. Oh where, oh where might I find such a game!?

But I suppose GOG staff/devs could add a FPS down the road, if they want. I am not big on MP games, co-op would be better. Though, there are already so many cool MP games, like Strike Vector or something, so I would be interested in seeing Galaxy implementation of those first.

edit to make sense ^^

Halo VI:Call of Titanfall.A GOG exclusive
Be interesting to see how many actually use galaxy for multiplayer at all since 99% of the games here are primarily single player games and most of the user base seemingly are here for those....
I'm not too big on competitive FPS games, but I say sure! Why the hell not?

Honestly, why not have more (quality) games of all types available?
Didn't CDProjekt announce a Witcher MOBA for mobiles/tablets recently? I can see an adaptation of that coming to Galaxy in the future.
Competitive FPS have freaking destroyed the FPS market for everyone except screaming ADHD asshole helicopter parented kids or hardcore competitive gamers.

NO.
NO NO.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I think it's a board or trading card game. Also, there's this already (although I don't know about 'solid'; it's probably just me, but I never really understood how to even start a game without falling through the floor ...).

Why does everyone have to conclude that I'm speaking about Halo or Call of Duty? I loved Call of Duty 1 and 2 for its simplicity, as well as Halo 1, might I add.

But, I'm speaking about something similar that all these great games shared, simplicity.

I'm speaking of a shooter that is simple, straightforward, and can both have a competitive and casual scene.

It's not a MOBA. It is a role-playing board game, if you will.
