cogadh: Same for me. I received no confirmation email on my ticket either. Double-checked spam folders - definitely not there.
Yeah spam filtering etc. is definitely not preventing me getting the support emails. I can only guess that the GOG email system is not working and hope that it gets fixed. Two days ago when I pre-ordered GOG was a site with a solid reputation and a great offer. Now they have become the worst online retail experience I have ever encountered. Switching a product post order is unacceptable. So is the lack of support.

The actual issue of the in game censorship is less of a problem as I have no issue with using a 3rd party mod to alter the game. Its the fact hat I have payed for one thing and received another that bothers me.

mezla1058: Yes they can. It is called a refund. It is not hard.

GameRager: Sometimes they can't do this for legal reasons./......also plz stop whining already. You made a mistake from rushing in, and Gog should've put up a notice. Sound fair?
It does, since there was no notice I want my money back. That is also fair.
Otherwise I will contest the charges with my bank and make it very unpleasant for everyone. I have plenty of free time for that.

GameRager: Well this is similar situation, in that Gog put up a whole thread about geo-ip caching and lots of goggers from NZ even said they were going "on holiday" during the sale yet people didn't read any of it and bought the game anyways.
Shouldn't have to read the user forum of a website to know you're getting a censored version. End of story.

Neither should NZ be getting a censored version because of Australia's laws, but that's another matter.

GameRager: And Gog shouldn't be liable because you couldn't bother to read the conditions/rules first...ignorance is no excuse.
This not a condition or a rule. It's the simple fact that New Zealand gets the censored Australian version of the game and it's not made readily apparent when purchasing.

Don't you have anything better to do than play devil's advocate where it's absolutely unneeded? Enjoy the fact that you get the proper version of the game and find something better to do.

I think Altmaster is right. There should of been a warning right before the purchase. If your an NZ person, you had no fear of getting a censored game, so of course, your not going to read the forums, do research etc unless you have a lot of free time and enjoy spending time at the forums.

Why are you playing dumb again? There was no indication that we were buying the AU version at any stage of the process. There was nothing to read.

GameRager: I agree a warning should've been put up, but part of the blame goes to the unwise consumer who doesn't check every aspect of a purchase they can before making it.

GameRager: There was this thread, which was up days before the sales started....and several articles about it as well on the internet.
But is a consumer unwise if they live in a country that doesn't have censorship and not do research to see if the game is censored or not in their country before purchasing a game? It would only be unwise for a German or Austrailian to not do their research... I mean, if your country doesn't have censorship of games, then doing research to see if The Witcher 2 is going to be censored for you is close to doing research to see if space aliens will invade Earth...

Anyone who purchased the game from Australia and got the censored version because they didn't go on a "vacation" and change their country in the account settings page is not going to get a refund, no matter what they do.

The people in NZ who got the censored AU version for having their country set to New Zealand however, should be reimbursed in full or at least have the uncensored version added to their list of games on GOG.

There was never any advertising saying the game would be censored for New Zealand on the product page of The Witcher 2 and it's ridiculous they were given the censored version, they are a separate country with completely different laws.
So am I wrong in thinking the version is determined by your region settings at the time of download? Or is it that a particular version is assigned to your account at purchase.

They may not be able to give your money back, at least not quick or easily, but they might be able to give you the correct version of it. I'm sure they allow for mistakes, it can't be all that difficult to have accidentally picked the wrong country.

Right then.
This is one of the topics I've got on my list to bring up during a meeting about TW2 today. We'll see what we can do for our kiwi friends.

So, the meeting must've finished a long time ago. Any updates?
It is really awesome how GOG decided to ignore us. Finally showed us their true colours.

Here's some cheese and crackers for that whine you're having. GoG staff reply a lot on these forums, so any number of things could have caused them not to reply (yet) this time. Considering how open they've been in communicaiton I'm sure they'll reply as soon as whatever's stopping them from talking has finished.
