darthspudius: iv been hearing all morning that it is the best super hero movie ever. Haven't seen it yet so I can't comment, but I do wish they'd shut up lol.
I liked it very much. Not sure if best superhero movie ever would be the right description. And hearing that all morning? The "critics" are ripping it apart from what I heard :P

The whole story(s) is inspired by darker episodes from the comics. So if you like darker toned superhero movies you should have fun. If you want Christopher Reeves Fun Man of Steel (TM honest movie trailers ;) )... forget it; its miles away.

If you want a very deep complex story that makes you think about the meaning of life, love and the deeper workings of the universe ask a professional doctor why you are looking for that in a Superhero movie that has the premise of Superman & Batman beating the shit out of each other (... that actually not meant to you specific).

Haha friends and relatives are batting on about it. Driving me nuts. Iv been reading the reviews, they've been so varied its interesting. I still plan on seeing it, just to see Superman get his teeth knocked out (hopefully). :D
I'm happy that people here liked it even though I didn't myself. I was worried WB would introduce budget cuts on Justice League movie if it fails to draw in as much cash as they estimated.

... I do not think you will be disapointed ;)

Just avoid thread like these with "spoilers" in the title until you saw it. And other similar structured reviews. And Youtube. ...and the internet. Just go see the movie so you can continue your normal social life again :P

Spoilers don't bother me too much. They haven't went into too much detail. I just want to see that god awful character have the spit knock out of him. It's been something iv always wanted to see on screen. I HATE Superman haha.

I just read Snyder plans on starting principle photography on "Justice League" early next month.

Does the studio know this? They may not have money for it after this current mess. :P

Seriously. There were supposed to be three John Carters, a couple Green Lanterns, a third Spiderman (Garfield reboot) and they were all axed because of previous bombs. What makes this so different?

For one thing, there is no evidence of this being a box office failure yet. Bad reviews dont have to mean poor box office, and vice versa.

Don't forget Fantastic Four 2 and Batman Unchained/Triumphant!

Yup. The continued success of Michael Bay's Transformers films is proof enough of that.

I can't see this flopping just on the brand alone. Nerds will pay to see a shit film, we learned this from the new Star Wars. >_<

I saw that on opening day, and loved every second of it. :P

I enjoyed it, but it had so many plot holes (and wooden acting) that I felt like I was watching a few planks and a net. :D

Elmofongo: 1. Tacked on? I assumed the whole story was basically just an algamation of Dark Knight Returns and Death of Superman? Besides its established that he is Zod so we know that Lex needed Zod to just frankenstein him back to life.

2. Don't they just kill faceless, "Non charcater" henchmen? And describe how they kill did Batman personally kill one guy suffer unjustly? I know he branded a guy.

3. Three more heroes to be introduced? I thought they already introduced them all here. Also the Justice League movie is split into 2 parts so I assume they can handle the plot structure better in those 2 movies.

4.Of all the things you can complain about the Superman Actor, you choose the look of his hair?
Oh no, Elmofongo's listing things again, that's how you know he's serious.

1. He shows up only in the last twenty or thirty minutes, has a little fight and dies right after, and his origin doesn't make much sense either. Luthor uses the crashed ship to create him. It warns him "it's been forbidden to ever recreate this terrible unstoppable monster who is the very personification of evil!". Then why does this random ship have the technology to create him?!

2. Yes, that doesn't make killing okay. Batman shoots rockets at cars and throws a granade back at a guy. Superman flies a guy through several walls, definitely killing him.

3. Oh, you see little videos of them using their powers, that's not introducing a character, we know nothing about who they are. Also, Green Lantern wasn't in it, so that one might have to be introduced from scratch.

Yeah, it's split into two parts. Which means the first part will be just half a movie. Two and a half hours of nothing but setup and you have to wait a year to see the conclusion.

4. What else would I complain about? Like I said, I've seen the actor in interviews, he's charismatic, it's the writing that isn't giving him a chance. And Superman is supposed to have a full head of hair, even that little twirl in the front to rub it in Luthor's face. With that massive widow's peak I expect Luthor to say "You know, we are not so different, you and I".

It just occured to me to post the Onion's review of the movie. It's completely spoiler free, and pretty damn hilarious.

DaCostaBR: - Too bad Lex Luthor is such a little shit every time he's on screen. I think the actions of the character were written well enough, the problem really was in the rather bizarre acting choices they went with. That, and the lack of motivation they've given him. It's just a throwaway line at the end of the movie. That's not enough to justify the enormous shitstorm he's creating.
"I serve XXX" is pretty good justification for the shitstorm he's creating I think. XXX is a massive douchebag who enjoys tormenting others because he gets off on it after all.

And when Lex talks about Superman - he really isn't talking about Superman, he's talking about XXX because he scares the shit out of him.
