With Kickstarter beta access on GOG.com!

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is becoming one of the biggest, most successful Kickstarter campaigns in history.

Straight from the under the watchful eye of Koji Igarashi, one of the godfathers of the genre, comes the newest exploration-focused, side scrolling platformer with RPG and crafting elements. In short, it's shaping up to be the biggest Metroidvania release in recent memory - already surpassing its original Kickstarter goal by sixfold. As of right now that is.

We're huge fans of IGA and Castlevania, so when we heard that Koji Igarashi was returning to the genre we knew we wanted to work with the team to play our part in getting this amazing spiritual successor out there, completely DRM-free, with our signature kind of customer love.

That's why we're excited to announce that we'll be supporting the upcoming release with DRM-free versions to all Kickstarter backers of the game pledging $28 or more!

Everyone who backs the project at the $60 tier (or higher) will receive not only a DRM-free digital copy of the game, but also exclusive backer-only content and access to the beta, all right here on GOG.com.

You can make your pledge over on Kickstarter, and stay tuned for future backer updates with more details on how to get started with your access to the beta.

HypersomniacLive: I do not see what is so funny. This is GOG, Mar 2017 is soon™.

Grargar: Well, it's funny because it obliterates Crawl as the soonest™ game to be released by GOG. Also, Mar 2017 is only an estimate. Nobody can guarantee that it won't take longer. ;)
That's what I was thinking. How many Kickstarted games have actually made their estimated release date? Some have been so ridiculously late it's crazy. Carmageddon Reincarnation was released on Steam in a condition that most devs would describe as a beta and still has no estimate for when they'll actually release the game DRM-free, so I'm still waiting on my copy of that one over 2 years after it was initially supposed to be released...
Good move.
Wether or not it turns out to be a good game, might send some business toward gog instead of steam knowing the game will appear here, making those launch news comments rarer: "Already bought it on release on steam" or "already bought the early acess on steam" or "have it already, but ill be sure to buy it here when its 75% off".
I don't get this, is it like Early Access for Galaxy or something?

Link doesn't show anything worthwhile and it says MAR 2017 for a release date.
That's great news! I was a bit worried to not get a DRM-Free Version of the game but this puts me at ease :)

There is related question which comes to my mind. There was another successful Kickstarter for La Mulana 2 which I helped back some time ago. Since you guys offer the first installment here, are there any plans about doing a similiar thing like with Bloodstained for the sequel of La Mulana?
Awesome news! :D I'll just be able to back this about 1 or 2 days before the Kickstarter finishes.
So, is this a sign that other beta releases may be coming to GOG in the future?
nvm

I think I'm gonna hold on to my money-belt right now, since i already bought TW3+exp pass, Darksiders1+2+dlc, Metro, Saints Row 2+3, etc. not long ago.

But this WILL end up in my library when it's released here.
I'm glad to hear this, I lost out on a few Kickstarter betas because going into the beta would lock you into the Steam version, but now that's hopefully not going to be an issue!

Holy cow, I never would have called this one. Good work yet again, guys! I'm ready for some Igavania goodness!
I was wondering if it was going to get a gog release, I guess this answers my question. It will be good to play some "Igavania" once again. Welcome to gog Iga. :)
Great, looking forward to it. Speaking of La Mulana, I hope it's not as tediously difficult as that one but expands the metroidvania genre without being excessive.
Happy to see the game confirmed here so soon !

But... Does that mean we have a future early access program on our hands ?

Not against at all (for some games...), just curious :)
This is a surprise indeed :)

Coming soon???
