I had the habit to watch bloopers on TV during Christmas holidays, but I don't know if I'm getting old but I don't find them funny anymore. Always the same falls, or not so natural laughting situation...

point is to make actual bloopers that are genuine, but many lack sense for jokes and those bloopers are detained of joy and honesty since many are staged. A shame.

Sulibor: For me the Christmas movie I like to return to is Ghostbusters 2. Although not as innovative as the first part, it has its chram takes place during Christmas period. Furthermore it uses the typical for Christmas movies theme of positive and unifying Christmas/New Year spirit. In the movie Ghostbusters need to positively charge the Statue of Liberty in order to rally citizens of New York and use those emotions overcome the negative one accumulated over the years in form of slime.

I also have found memories of the already mentioned here Christmas Carol adaptation made by Disney in 1983. I watched it many times as a kid and I was surprised at first when I was told it was not original Disney story.
Link for those who would like to watch it again:

Thank you for the giveaway, I would like to be in.
The Statue of Liberty isn't as good as the Marshmallow Man and Mickey's Christmas Carol isn't as good as the Muppets version, but Santa still likes both movies. He left a gift in your stocking.

Swedrami: Not in, just shamelessly using the opportunity to post about the arguably best part of one of my all-time favourite TV specials:
Ein Adventsgedicht
That's absolutely brilliant :) Thank you for sharing!

letsmaybeLP92: Thanks for doing this giveaway! I'm in for whatever surprise you send my way!

I love so many holiday movies, but I have to go with A Charlie Brown Christmas. Snoopy is one of my favorite characters, and it has some of the most charming scenes of any cartoon movie!
It's been a while since I last saw a Charlie Brown Christmas. Thank you for reminding me to watch it again :)

Also, good to see you, Snowkatt.

Orkhepaj: And for TV specials it has to be the Star Wars Holiday special, it is so bad you can't stop watching it, especially as a classic SW fan.
...There's a SW holiday special? Where can I find it???
avatar
Tallima: My favorite is probably White Christmas. Good music (especially for a musical) , good fun, and warm feels.
One of my favourites, as well. Fantastic atmosphere!

TheDudeLebowski: My absolute favorite for Christmas though has to be A Garfield Christmas Special!

I have no idea how it's possible that I'm a Garfield fan, yet I've never seen that Christmas Special. THank you!

Enebias: This might be the topic for next year's "traditional surprise", but... here's the best Christmas song of all times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY7t49Nu8Bk

I just remembered that almost 20 years ago, every time we took some time off uni and I'd visit my parents during the holidays, a chubby, ginger cat would visit me. He was a proper Garfield. He'd let me pet him and pick him up. He just appeared out of the blue and we became friends. I loved him to bits. Don't know which neighbor was looking after him, but it was so weird he'd visit me every single time for a few years.

:(((((

Mugiwarah: Thanks you for your generosity i'm in.

I don't realy watch christmas movie on christmas, but i remember of gremlins and home alone when i was young.
Santa shares your fondness of those movies :) Check your stocking.
So many nostalgic mentions in this forum, like The Muppet Christmas Carol, which I also adore very much! Of all the adaptations ever made, apparently it was the most faithful to Dickens book, despite it featuring puppets. ;) Such a feelgood film.

You guys mentioning this movie reminded me of one particular Christmas when our city was hit by a severe ice storm and many households were without electricity (the heavy ice broke many power lines!), so during that particular Christmas, I could not watch any movie or television specials or even the radio (I had one but it was broken).

So what did I do? I poured myself some cold leftover mulled wine, lit some candles and cuddled up to my collection of Calvin & Hobbes comics! Specifically, It's A Magical World and Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons. To me, these books were Christmassy enough, captured the spirit of winter and filled me with electrifying laughter during a blackout. :)
