I was never much of a TV person, in part because I did not like to watch content that I could not choose (back when you were stuck with the existing programming, which had to appeal to all audiences) and because I was fortunate to have nature nearby (it seemed there were always so many more interesting things to be doing outside).

This makes it all the more meaningful that over the years I always had a special place for two versions of the Christmas Carol story, one portrayed by Disney (with Scrooge McDuck) and the one by the Muppets. In fact, the Muppets special episodes were always something to look forward to, to watch and laugh with the family, grown-ups and little ones alike ^^

Walt Disney and Jim Henson... these animation giants are something that even today I am fond of, nowadays re-playing them to watch with the younger ones, valuing all the more the educational and moral content they strived to include among the humour. Of course there are many newer, shinier things... but nothing surpasses those, colored by the grace of memory and nostalgia.

EDIT: I'd like to be in, with thanks for the reprise of a wonderful initiative that evokes what makes the holidays a special time for everyone.

Since I've seen few people recommending Tokyo Godfathers, I've decided to add that one as well to my Christmas watchlist this year. Haven't watch an anime in a long time and really feel like remedying that.

That reminded me of an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME animation that is perfect for Christmas (even though I watched it "off season").
People, do watch Klaus, you're gonna love it!

I second this!
At first I was uninterested, my sister wanted to see it and I though "oh great, another one of those stupid trite Christmas things, ok, if I must".
I was so wrong! It destroyed my prejudice and it was actually bittersweet at moments and heartwarming. Also it looks amazing, it's clear it was made with a lot of effort and care for details.

Klaus... that looks similar in style to Rise of the Guardians. Are the connected?

Seems like a missed opportunity
If I am eligible, I am in.

Well, in Christmas, I usually like to make an art about it. I usually draw something that relates to it, and share it to everybody. When my friends or my school make an event to celebrate it, I usually come to enjoy it too. Even though I don't take part in the main activity, I usually come to help with the decoration and the food, and also to talk about stuffs. Having the food together with my friends and teachers is the best part in it, in my opinion.

So, my favorite movie Christmas movie, TV specials, or Christmas radio shows? Well, movie... no, unfortunately I don't have it. Christmast radio show... well, sorry, I never heard it here (I don't listen to radio), so I don't have it either. As for TV specials, hmm, does cartoon counts? If yes, then yes! I have it then! I usually like to watch the Christmas special for cartoon like Adventure Time, Phineas and Ferb, SpongeBob SquarePants, and many more.

Anyway, thank you! I wish you all a great Christmas this year!!

zlaywal: I'd recommend Tokyo Godfathers, an anime from one the genre's great, the late Satoshi Kon. It's about 3 homeless people that found a baby on Christmas Eve.
It's not often I'll indulge in anime movies, but I was curious to check out the trailer via your link and I liked what I saw. :) I'll give this movie a go come Xmas! Always cool to discover new things when browsing the forums. ;) Thx!

Satoshi Kon's films tend to have a surreal quality to them...
I also like South Park Christmas episodes with Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo.

like most of us + die hard :D
See No Evil, Hear No Evil was a typical Christmas movie on Italian TV as well, and the Valley of Dinosaurs. Every damn Christmas. I could watch it twice but come on! I like to watch new stuff unless I'm really into it.
Thanks for the giveaway. I'm in.

My Favorite movie: The Lord Of The Rings Film Trilogy.

My Favorite TV Show: Game Of Thrones.

Edit: I didn't realize that I had to name my favorite Christmas movie.

I don't watch Christmas movies that much but I have seen Home Alone many times when I was a kid.
