Welcome everybody, it's Christmas time again and so it's time for the traditional (yes, three times in a row makes a tradition) Christmas Surprise Giveaway party, hosted by the local Santas PaterAlf and skimmie!

Two years ago we wanted to know about your favourite holiday songs and/or your best holiday recipes. Last year we talked about decorations and gifts.
Unfortunately this year the situation is special. Because of COVID-19 there aren't any great partys and we have to spend a lot of time alone on our couch. So we'd really like to know about your favourite Christmas movies, TV specials or Christmas radio shows (yes, radio still exists). Which ones do you love and have to watch or hear every year (and why?). Or which ones are very weird, but still have a special place in your heart?

Like always we’re also having (kind of) a giveaway among those who actively contribute to the thread. If you tell us about your favourite movie, please also make sure to let us know if you’re in for the GA or not, and if you’re in, make sure your wish list is public (or set it to ‘friends’ and add us as friends, at least for the duration of the giveaway). We’ll be going around and dropping gifts in your stockings here and there and so you MIGHT end up with a gift from us, sooner or later! Then again, you might not. After all, we’re just sharing stories; please keep in mind the GA is a bonus.

So happy holidays and let the party begin!

Thanks for giveaway! I'm in :)

Home alone is the best movie about Christmas ever =)
Light humor, curious situations, charismatic actors = best Christmas mix.

P.S. I think you must wait till DOC's giveaway will end to exclude troubles with games in wishlists of participants.
Not in, just shamelessly using the opportunity to post about the arguably best part of one of my all-time favourite TV specials:
Ein Adventsgedicht

Good point. If you are also a participant in the Secret Santa event, you can either give us a link to your wishlist in that thread and we won't give you anything from that list. Or (if you don't have a special Secret Santa list) you can just tell us and we won't give you anything between the start of Secret Santa and Christmas Eve.
I'm in, thanks for giveaway :)

I am personally not the biggest Christmas person when it comes to songs but some of the movies are good.
My favorite Christmas movie is either Santa Claus or Home Alone, I always love watching the Christmas Story every year on Christmas day because there is a channel that always plays it for 24 hours on Christmas.
Thank you so much for the GA :)
I would like to in :)

Well, one of my fav xmass movies was:
Christmas Eve Dinner with Cris (CEO Tofu Media)

Perfect if you want some accompany ;)

I'll be in this one. The best Christmas movies are Home Alone and Die Hard. We always watch them and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Excellent movies that always make good background for Christmas time festivities.

I hope everyone has a great December, and Happy Holidays.

Great to see another Christmas tradition carries on! \o/

Don't have a specific movie that I watch every Christmas, rather I try to watch different one on every new opportunity. ;)
This year I'm gonna watch Miracle on 34th Street. I like the style of '90s movie so I'll be giving the '94 one a watch before the '47 one. Hmm, maybe that one will be on the "menu" next year, who knows. :)

I'd like to be be in for the giveaway as well. As with previous two time I'm only asking that if I end up on your gift recipient list that it happens before or after Secret Santa event active period. I've also entered for few games in Doc's fight club giveaway, but frankly due to their price range I wouldn't really expect for you to potentially gift me any of those anyway.

Wishing you both a very merry and jolly time this Christmas! :)
I'm in for the giveaway. Thanks. :)

Me and my family's favorite holiday movie is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Most Christmas movies deal with how joyful the season is but Christmas Vacation shows all the things that regularly goes wrong. Like having to deal with the annoying in-laws or figuring why the Christmas lights aren't working. The reason why it's enjoyable is because it's relatable (though I don't think I've ever had a squirrel in the Christmas Tree, but there's always a first time for everything :D ). Is some of it over-the-top? Yeah, but then it wouldn't be as funny. We religiously watch it every year to remind ourselves that the Holidays could always be worse.
Thanks for the giveaway and I would love to join this virtual christmas festive event!

My favourite movie has been Home Alone. It is one of the best holiday movies that I still remember when I had Christmas as a young child. I remember seeing it multiple times in school and at home but I still have yet to yawn at it!

It's one of those classics I deeply treasure in my heart.
I heard the little cute boy actor has grown up completely now. But he will always be that little boy from Home Alone for me haha
Thanks, I'm in. Happy holidays!

Seinfeld Season 9 Episode 10 introduced the world to Festivus, the alternative Dec 23 holiday tradition celebrated by George's family. It starts with a Festivus Pole: an unadorned aluminium pole (George's father "finds tinsel distracting"), is followed by the Airing of Grievances (where everyone in attendance gets to say how everyone else has disappointed them the past year) and ends with the Feats of Strength, where a chosen guest must wrestle the head of the household ("stop crying and fight your father!"). The celebrations cannot end until he's been pinned. The holiday is now celebrated for real by Seinfeld fans around the world, including me!
Happy Festivus for the rest of us!

My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story:

I love the Leg Lamp scene from that film. It's an all-time classic movie scene.

As much as I would welcome a free game I have to give this giveaway a pass as I already received more than enough from our hosts previously.

I'd recommend Tokyo Godfathers, an anime from one the genre's great, the late Satoshi Kon. It's about 3 homeless people that found a baby on Christmas Eve. AS with Kon's more celebrated works like Millennium Actress and Paprika, the movies contain roller-coaster of emotion with critique of Japanese society.

Merry Christmas for those who celebrated and for those who don't may we all enjoy the holiday season, in spite the crazy pandemic this world going through now.
Awesome giveaway.

And I'm in for it!

My favorite Christmas Movies are Bad Santa series; Home Alone 1+2; and of course Christmas Vacation. If I had to pick one - probably X-Mas Vacation. I've watched it pretty much every year since I was a young kid.

While I do like serious movies and all - for X-Mas movies, the comedies always hit me.
Thanks for doing this giveaway! I'm in for whatever surprise you send my way!

I love so many holiday movies, but I have to go with A Charlie Brown Christmas. Snoopy is one of my favorite characters, and it has some of the most charming scenes of any cartoon movie!
