Roman5: Mark Rein rules out Unreal Engine 4 games on the WiiU

"Hahaha no." Rein said, with expert comedic timing. The room erupted with laughter. As the laughs died down, Rein continued: "I mean, sorry, it's not really a correct answer. We're not…"

This is how the indurstry perceives Nintendo
Do you wish Nintendo leaves and becomes a 3rd party developer like Sega or the company bankrupts and their IPs goes to different hands like THQ?

No, I'd rather they release their games on certain DRM free sites.

*cough*

But I do think it would be best for some of their studios to break off and go indy. Such as GameFreak+Creatures.

Yes, I did basically say 'Pokemon should be its own thing.'

I see a handheld only future for them. Their portables still sell great in Japan and pretty good elsewhere. They can use the 3rd pillar strategy like with the DS where they phase in a new console saying it isn't an official replacement. Then over time if it sells they move everything over to it. Just give it some kind of TV out/dock connection and even make it backwards compatible with the Wii U tablet and Wii remote.

If they release something in a few years time, technology should be advanced enough to get well beyond the Wii and maybe close to the Wii U level. So ports of the games for the eShop shouldn't be too difficult.

It would only delay the inevitable thanks to Smartphones.
In an interview with eurogamers EA states that they won't support WiiU games.
Its logical or?
Why downporting a game and spending money for a new design that includes
the WiiU Pad if the console sells less than the old PS3 and X360?
And why should you buy a console if there is not one must have game?
Still Nintendo will survive because of the next Mario and Zelda (in 2014).
Not even robbers like Wii U :D

I saw this gem mentioned on NeoGaf last night.

According to Brian Altano of IGN, "If the Wii U is the only console you get, you're an asshole." because you will miss too many games from other consoles.

It starts around 17:20 in this video.
