It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

[UPDATE] We've concluded this testing, the post below is out of date. Great thanks to all who submitted the results. Now we're back to fine tune all this stuff :).
---------------------
Hi all,
We are currently working on improving the download speeds for you, we'd like to ask you for a little help with the testing :)
1. First and foremost, make sure that you have Beneath a Steel Sky added to your account - the game is free and pretty awesome by the way so no reason not to grab it ;).
2. Click the first download link below and note the download speeds. When the download finishes, do the same for the second link and note down the result.
DOWNLOAD 1
DOWNLOAD 2
3. Post your download speeds for "Download 1" and "Download 2" in this topic. If you have any other observations (for example one of the downloads dropped out or you got to 100% of your downlink speed etc) please post them as well.
Also, if you can retry the test on different internet connection (for example at work or at school ;) please do so.
Thank you in advance for your time and all the reports! We strongly believe that with this info we will be able to make GOG.com download speeds even better for all!
Cheers!

DL 1, 550-700 KB/s, 01M 44s
DL 2, 785-790 KB/s, 01M 32s (stable speed from start to finish)
IE8
New test, on two different computers, using different browsers (not that that should matter), and different network configs:
Laptop, Internet Explorer 8, 802.11g:
File 1: 486 Kbyte/s, 2 min 31 sec
File 2: 1,43 Mbyte/s, 50 sec
Stationary, Firefox 3.5.4, "Gigabit" Ethernet:
File 1: 498.38 Kbyte/s, 2 min 27 sec
File 2: 497.84 Kbyte/s, 2 min 27 sec
My previous test was made on the latter computer, using Safari 4.
From work:
1. 300 to 530 kb/s, but it was usually between 460 to 530 kb/s
2. 900 to 935 kb/s, and was pretty constant.
Using Google Chrome and a wired connection.
So far, I am liking 2...
With a 1 MB connection (aye, you can stop laughing now):
Download 1 - mostly 126-127 KB/s, fell below just a bit for a short time.
Download 2 - between 130 and 130 KB/s.
I can try it with a 9 MB connection on Sunday as well if it's still going to be topical.
Regards,
Vorax

Glad to hear you're working on improving speeds. :)
Both links were the same for me:
Average 300kb/s (ranging from 280-320, about my max speed)
Both shot up to 400-450 around 2 mins in for a few seconds

Download 1: 1.6-1.7 MB/s.
Download 2: 2.5+ MB/s most of the time. Was getting 3 MB/s a lot. I don't really download anything that often, but the only other time I've seen 3 MB/s was with Steam servers. Way to go, guys! Although I usually am able to download games at least at 1.5 MB/s here, so I'm already satisfied.
Download 1: From 800kbs to 1 mbs, fluctuating quite a bit
Download 2: 1.1 mbs consistently
Georgia, US
DL1: 1.2 MB/s average
DL2: 1.7 MB/s average

Destro: 2. Click the first download link below and note the download speeds. When the download finishes, do the same for the second link and note down the result.
DOWNLOAD 1
DOWNLOAD 2

(ADSL2+ with a currently listed downstream rate of 13052 kbps)
1) I seem to be averaging 130-135Kb/s
2) I seem to be averaging about 70Kb/s
I don't know that it matters since its only for a speed test but I got an unknown file type with download 2
First download:
240-392 KB/s
Second download:
407-464 KB/s
Tests were done on the same computer using IE 8.
They both capped out the Internet I have here, with both of them hovering around the cap, 150 kB/s.
Download 1: 3700 kB/s avg. speed
Download 2: 6800 kB/s avg. speed
I have a 100/30 net connection @home.
Download 1: 420 kB/s average
Download 2: 670 kB/s average
Using a 7 MB cable connection.
Thanks folks for the results so far ;)
We still need more to have a better picture. Please keep them coming!
If you haven't yet posted your results, please help us :)

Download 1: 438 kB/s average
Download 2: 450 kB/s average
Both were stable and had little change in speeds.
Using IE8 with a 4 MB ADSL connection.
