It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

[UPDATE] We've concluded this testing, the post below is out of date. Great thanks to all who submitted the results. Now we're back to fine tune all this stuff :).
---------------------
Hi all,
We are currently working on improving the download speeds for you, we'd like to ask you for a little help with the testing :)
1. First and foremost, make sure that you have Beneath a Steel Sky added to your account - the game is free and pretty awesome by the way so no reason not to grab it ;).
2. Click the first download link below and note the download speeds. When the download finishes, do the same for the second link and note down the result.
DOWNLOAD 1
DOWNLOAD 2
3. Post your download speeds for "Download 1" and "Download 2" in this topic. If you have any other observations (for example one of the downloads dropped out or you got to 100% of your downlink speed etc) please post them as well.
Also, if you can retry the test on different internet connection (for example at work or at school ;) please do so.
Thank you in advance for your time and all the reports! We strongly believe that with this info we will be able to make GOG.com download speeds even better for all!
Cheers!
Piotr K, GOG.com Team

Location 1 #1 100 kbps
Location 1 #2 80 kbps
Location 2 #1 110 kbps
Location 2 #2 120 kbps
Location #1: 200kB/s
Location #2: 3.8MB/s
My max download speed: 4.4MB/s
Download 1 went from 520 - 580 kb/s averaged around 550 kb/s
Download 2 went from 600 - 625 kb/s stayed at around 625 kb/s when it got there.
Download 1: avg. 895.30 kB/s (with pretty high top speeds of ~1200 kB/s, though with strong fluctuations)
Download 2: avg. 1063.98 kB/s (much more stable)
I could perform the test on another computer, however, GOG website seems not to work with Lynx web browser (yeah, a text-only one), thus I can't make use of my PC at my other house, accessed via SSH :(

I use IE8 have cable internet
Download 1: ~ 1.32 MB/s
Download 2: ~ Started at 2.67 for about 10 sec and dropped to 1.30 MB/s for the rest of the d/l
Comcast cable around Chicago, IL. Max speeds I've ever seen are around 1600-1800kbps. I'm using Firefox 3.5.5 on XP, and if it matters, I did the test in reverse order (link 2, then link 1).
Download link 1: Took about 10 seconds to ramp up from 400k to hovering between 600 and 800K throughout the rest of the download.
Download link 2 (cdn): 1400 to 1600k throughout entire download, start to finish. Nice.
Downloading from work I get:
1: Starting at 920 Kbyte/s, rising quickly to 1,1 Mbyte/s, then slowly up, reaching 1,3 Mbyte/s near the end.
2: 1,7-1,9 Mbyte/s, going up and down between those speeds throughout the download.
I don't know what connection we have, but I'm pretty sure those speeds are nowhere near what I should be able to reach.
Downloading from home (via wireless network, so it may impact performance...)
WinXP Using Firefox 3.5.5
No Download Accelerators Used
Comcast Cable (4.92Mbps/3.07Mbps) [Hampered by wireless network]
#1
Roughly 220KB/s to 253KB/s with an average of 240KB/s
#2
Roughly 330KB/s to 350KB/s with an average of 347KB/s
I got a GOG page with a 404 error on both links. Are those latest links still valid?
XP, Firefox
EDIT: NM, I brain-farted. DLing now.
On a 10 Mbps dsl connection (it's actually connected at 12.5 Mbps according to my modem):
Link1 = 1126 KB/sec average
Link2 = 1388 KB/sec average
Nice speeds. One more reason to love GOG!

I have 2mb broadband internet (UK)
Download 1: 275 - 275 275k average
Download 2: 281 - 281 281k average
I'll take the extra 4k, but I am one of the people that have all the games (that I want) you have put up so far, so no need to download anything yet.
It is the weekend here, so international speeds suck for me, but here are my results.
Download 1: ~120KB/s (+-20KB/s)
Download 2: 50-90KB/s
My internet connection is full speed ADSL1, and I can get up to ~800KB/s on a good day.
During evenings/weekends, multiple connections to a server helps a LOT for me. (hint hint GOG)
Downloading from work
WinXP Using Firefox 3.5.5
No Download Accelerators Used
Comcast Cable (3.55Mbps/1.48Mbps)
#1
Roughly 270KB/s to 580KB/s with an average of 320KB/s (Volatile)
#2
Roughly 440KB/s to 1.1MB/s with an average of 600 KB/s (Volatile)
Hmm.. on a 2mbit connection i got these results:
Download 1: ~192 KB/s
Download 2: ~160 KB/s, and the speed was much more inconsistent throughout, ranging from 110 up to 220KB/s.
On another line, here's what happened:
Download 1: ~1.07 MB/s, this time going from 900 KB/s to 1.1 MB/s and back.
Download 2: ~1.77 MB/s, "stuck" at this speed the whole time, unlike the 2mbit try.
Download 1 - 1800-1900 KB/s
Download 2 - 500 - 800 KB/s
Download 1 was much more faster and stable for me using Google Chrome
____________________________________________________________
On IE Download 1 was still faster but less stable - 1500 - 2000 KB/s
and Download 2 started at 1800 and gradually dropped to 600 KB/s
My results are as follows:
Download 1:
71.6MB in 1 minute 6 seconds, averaging 1.08MB/sec
Download 2:
71.6MB in 38 seconds, averaging 1.88MB/sec
