Hm. I gave my Wii away to my brother and my DS too, to a kid who's friend had one. I couldn't even consider giving my 360 away.

I'm just a bit bored of waiting for Nintendo to "Man-Up", for want of a better line. The games that I have enjoyed most, in recent years have been Mass Effect 1/2, Gears of War, PGR, Forza, etc. The Wii hasn't had anything in that league in my humble opinion.

So at the very best, I'll wait and see how the WiiU does in terms of it's gaming catalogue before I think about parting with cash.
new news regarding the system

http://www.vg247.com/2012/03/26/vigil-wii-u-hardware-on-par-with-current-gen-tech/

so it's confirmed that it's hardware is on Par with the Current 360 and PS3

Once again, Nintendo is a generation behind
Doesn't bother me too much. I don't own a PS3 or a 360, so for me this will be a step up (assuming I get one, I'm reserving judgement until I see some games).
More new info is out. Most of it is expected, except for that "Pro" controller. Not sure about that face button placement, I guess I'll have to hold it before forming an opinion.

They probably made it like that to keep it consistent with the placement of the right stick and buttons of the "tablet controller". I'm not sure how will it feel but Nintendo usually makes good controllers so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

3-5 hours really suck :/
can we play while they're charging or they have the same design as a 3DS ?

Can you not play and charge a 3DS at the same time? I know you can for the DS and DS lite.

I have one, and yes you can.

Ugh, will we ever move past this battery life thing? I've had enough, I would rather ditch the tablet than work with these specs.

That's hardly news, that's more like admitting that what everybody already knew is true.
Wasn't something similar said when the Wii launched?
Or maybe I'm remembering a discussion I had with friends of mine back then.

Nice to see Nintendo is still in 1987
Some weeks after I bought a Wii, I felt Nintendo went WiiWii on me. The lack of good games(in my opinion), not being able to play Gamecube games, the bad graphics. So many reasons why I regretted purchasing a Wii. What does the WiiU offer that makes it better than the Wii? Better graphics, that's it? Is the WiiU going to be a console for kids and girls like the Wii is?
Hate all this wii and Kinect jumping about shite. Crap games on tech that doesn't even work properly.

Used to piss me off when you buy a 360 game and it has written on the box 'Plays better with Kinect'. No it doesn't, it plays better with you just wearing boxer shorts and having some Pepsi and crisps on standby. Or having you mates on Party chat.

The wii sold a shed load of consoles to the novelty gaming family. It gets unboxed and boxed back up again for one day of the year, and they didn't buy any games other than what came as the bundle pack.

wiiU? wiiF**k U...... Yeah.
