Thankfully it looks like I am not the only one having the problem with the Duo version. Both versions default to Steam. I wanted one on steam and one in GOG. I was actually going to play the GOG version, but now I have to wait some more to play. I don't want to risk playing the Duo version that I will be able to change to GOG.

I hope they get this working soon.

skeletonbow: Someone who owns Dragon Commander will have to answer that (I don't), I only know that Larian said that they made a custom auto-updater for the game just for GOG. Whether that is in addition to GOG's normal method or instead of I don't know personally.

Ok, good. Thank you kindly for clearing that up.

Your Welcome
Apparently there's been a 1GB+ Day One Patch including voice acting additions, so it seems likely (and sensible) for GOG to be holding off until this is included in their release.
I heared from someone who heard from someone else that the Patience Simulator will be included in the GOG version as a bonus. :-)

Maybe they even don't release it today because of the issue with the languages. There is the promise of releasing tomorrow the French and German language packs, but some people don't belief this because of earlier experiences with Larian. I don't know what to think about that. :)

Does that mean we can buy them tomorrow as well (nothing to brag, I just learned that the game is existing on Saturday) ????

cw8: I have duo copies so I don't have to worry that I can't change the initial steam version to gog even though I've chosen GOG all this while, problem is I can't select GOG on the 2nd copy lol

fe79: Yeah, same here. No GOG option for the second copy. It is probably just a bug/oversight, but this and the near-total lack of information is kind of giving me the vibe that neither Larian nor GOG really gives a crap about this game coming to GOG.
Don't think so. This is one of the biggest and most anticipated Day 1 Releases for this year - they must care. That's why I can't believe how Larian and GOG screwed it...

Well, at least I can't distract myself even more from studying as I already do :D
This little incident is starting to affect my confidence on the product itself. :S

I agree. If GOG really want to keep growing and even challenge Steam (and it seems they do, what with Galaxy and all), they really need to get their act together on this kind of thing. It's not their first screw up (though most of the others were PR-related), and they had months to prepare for this one.

Getting this game after Steam does while they had the opportunity to release it before them (since their sale ended sooner) is a real mistake imo.

Are you expecting "GOG keys" ? Sorry for inconvenience!
How often I'm reading this lately...

Dralel: It's disgusting the game STILL isn't on this site, almost before the Steam summer sale end. Not even a "it's coming today don't worry" from an admin, anything...
avatar
Reever: I wouldn't say disgusted, but...maybe a bit disappointed? Dunno what the GOG/Larian guys are thinking. They know just what kinds of shitstorms can arrise from something like this...

And they even have a gamecard for Mousecraft, a game I've never heard of (that doesn't have to say much, though :D), coming out on July 6th! Meh.
No, disgusted is right.. You are entitled to be as forgiving over this as you want, but this entire release has been a mess from the beginning.

The constantly changing contents of the CE, the non DRM-FREE disc they tried to palm off on us, the delays, and now this.... And all the while those who got it on Steam are already playing?

And now GOG are compounding the issue with their unwarrented silence?

I'm so angry I could puke.

Yep, Larian have been full to bursting with the having to constantly apologise for their screw-ups.
