A Star Wars game hybriding Strike Commander/Tachyon, Elite/Privateer/Freelancer, and Pirates/Sea Dogs/ early Uncharted Waters style gameplay but with an RPG style level system to build your skills and perks.

At the end of chargen you are leaving your homeworld for the first time and have to choose between signing on with a mercenary fighter squadron, an Independent light freighter crew, or a freelance corvette crew with that choice determining the course of gameplay as the main game starts with you gaining command of whatever ship or unit you signed on with.

Include Clone Wars, Galactic Civil War, and Sequel Trilogy eras in the core game with things like what ships are available, and what factions are active plus their respective strengths determined by the era. Also include options to play in an era as long as you want or do a mega campaign where after so long an era ends and jumps you to the next era (Hyperspace accident or carbon freezing to explain you not aging perhaps.) Also include options to change game types between Eras. (Say you were a light freighter captain in the Clone Wars you could stick with that or become a Fighter Squadron leader or capital ship captain/flotilla commander in the Galactic Civil War then switch again for the Sequel Trilogy.)

DLCs would add eras from the Legends continuity like The Old Republic, Knights of the Old Republic, The Vong War, The Legacy comics and the Second Galactic Civil War along with new ships and such for existing eras.

Star Blazers the video game.
I often think about this and it always has to do with what ever genre I'm really into at the moment...

right now it's a tactic genre, so the likes of Gal Civ 3, endless Space, and other games that are sudo Grand Stratagy. so here goes! (Man GOG Galaxy needs spell check, I'm to lazy!)

A historical based game similar to Crusader Kings 2 but no where near as complicated. Have it similar gameplay to Total War wihtout the real time Stratagy battles. Throw in battle screens similar to Gal Civ 3 where it shows you what happened and that should be my dream game.

It's harder to explain but I like the campaign of Total War Games, Rome 2 in particular. It's easy yet gives some good strategy elements. But I like the setting and gameplay style of parts of Crusader Kings 2 more. It's funny when something weird happens like Polland winning the first crusade for ever...

Hope that makes sense,
My dream game would be putting on one of those headsets with Sandra Bullock in Demolition Man and playing whatever game that is. :)

Also, if you have ever read the book series called Otherland by Tad Williams you might remember the one character who plays that mmo type game in virtual reality. It sounds really cool the way the author describes it and I wonder if games will ever become so advanced.

Mind you that sandra has aged since that movie,(which i dont mind cause i am 51)

Demolitian Man: Initial release: October 7, 1993 (googled)
Sandra is 51 according to googled result so 1993-1964 = age 29 compared to 51 years of age today

i dont have dream games: as long as i can play it regarding my 'limitations'
so no 3d, no zooming in and out required like most nowaday games seem to do.
no FPP.

no grainy revival of 8bit pixelgames(ministeck graphics) these make my eyes strain and hurt
no lightning effects, paralax scrolling , jumping

just simple games like fallout classics and all those good old games
if possible also no vectorbased graphics, invis inc uses graphics that look like illustrator stuff, underrailed also uses vectorlike windows popup menus, grey, orange, its a bit to colourfull compared to good old fallout classics, these had dark , grey.blue brownish graphcis, big inventory icons.
Nowadays everything is so tiny they are forced to enable mouse zoom in zoom out (eg: invis inc) to make the tiny characters visible on screen.

Thats why Shadow Watch is better (the controls are quirky thats true)but the graphics can be seen even by an almost blind bat.
Theres also that burglar game with a dame in it, that looks like vectors have been used, i just dont see vectors fit into a game in the style of baldurs gate and all good old games.

Vectors and shading stuff (metallic looks) are best for FPP or flightsim games.
My 'dream' games are like they used to be: rpg, adventures in old style , no vectors, no 3d, no fpp.

Use 3d only for FPP games.

An open world dynamic game where you can play as a minor character while the world behave on its own. For example, the npcs may be warring and plotting against each other like Crusader kings, inventing and building new things, while you're just a humble character roaming within the world.

The world doesn't rotate around your character, but you may make that happen.

A realistic and brutal crossing of Crusader Kings' dynasty simulator with a Total War-style tactical battle system thrown in. Take the intricate character/leader designs of Koei's strategy titles and give it a dose of American testosterone with an ancient Greek, Roman, or Medieval setting to play around in. Give the player a few hundred years to shape the destiny of the world with his family line and martial prowess. If the game was also given some light RPG elements that were sensible and realistic it could very well be the greatest strategy game of all time.

And it will never be made because a game like that would take 20 years to develop.
A good MMO, maybe based on the Stephen King The dark tower, with an amazing crafting and auction house system.
I like crafting and make virtual money in a MMO :D
Open world, skill-based RPG.
No classes, just skills.
Skills are taught by trainers who have to be found and paid to teach you new abilities or upgrade existing ones.
Skills only determine how well you use items, not what items you can or can't use.
Online optional, can invite friends to visit your world via a wormhole/stargate type thing.
Only two currencies: Gold (hard currency) and time. What you can't buy with gold you buy with effort or skill.
Some abilities cost stamina to use, some exceptionally powerful skills cost HP.
Survival elements including hunger, sleep, hygiene, to be managed to maintain peak stamina.
Crafting items requires you to "research" the item first by crafting a weak prototype and using it in the field before it's ready for production (sort of like an unlock quest).
The world updates itself randomly via major events (e.g. spaceship explodes overhead and leaves high-tech wreckage strewn everywhere that's also radioactive and drives local wildlife crazy, or massive earthquake makes a chasm where there used to be a forest but a massive underground labyrinth is revealed in the process).
Everything in the world is an object that can be used. There is no generic, uninteractable grass, for example. All items have basic crafting and alchemical properties, even if they're not terribly useful.
Wildlife can be rendered extinct if you kill them all and there is no sustainable breeding population. Likewise, predators can kill all the game and leave themselves to starve to death.
Basically an ecology simulator is what I mean, one that you can have a direct impact on.
Roguelike elements, similar to Eve Online. You die, you come back as a clone, but you lose skills and money if you haven't updated recently. And if you can't recover your gear, it's gone too. Also your former body might be a zombie now, so good luck with that.

Basically, every game I play gives me an idea that influences the potential of my dream game, resulting in the kind of Traveler's Dilemma, but instead of being unable to find one place to settle down that has all the things I like, I can't find one game to play that has all the things I enjoy.
For 15 years it has been a classed based FPS with great singleplayer and tactical multiplayer campaign, assault mode, etc... like a mix between Unreal Tournament assault and Battlefield in the Starcraft universe where you can choose from different classes of the different races and be one of the units in the field, like a Berserker, Templar, Dark Templar, Dragoon, etc... as Protoss; Hydralisk, Lurker, Mutalisk, etc... as a Zerg and Firebat, Medic, Marine, Ghost, etc... as a Terran.

Seeing how Blizzard has evolved since then, I'd go for the complete (as in originally intended) Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines now.

My dream game would be

1.Fallout with Just Cause 3 graphic+skills, Planescape:Torment type of storyline and Skyrim Modding Community.

2. Open world(Space!!) visiting planet, random encounters on aliens, with resource management/world building skills, craft Aircraft or Drones, exceptional characters model and great storyline.
A new PS2 era 3d platformer in the style of Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, and Sly Cooper. The combat of Ratchet and Clank, and some stealth like Sly Cooper. With an actual story and fun gameplay!

One part of your description is covered by Kerbal Space Program. But I doubt it's want you want.. :P

I think this is another one for Star Citizen:

I still wonder if it will ever be finished, since devs working on it have reported too much investment into the next expo instead of content.

Haha i knew it i miss some details. I want it more to be like Star Trek :Judgement Rites. but with awesome 3D graphic, massive galaxy to explore, destroy and conquer or cherish and rebuild a planet. Help fellow aliens or kill em, Fallout 2-ish random encounter, crafting and upgrading your equipment and your ship.

and when im afk i could just autopilot looking at the awesome view of the galaxy while my mates chatting in the background.

no. thats not mass effect.
